You may have noticed that there is some stuff going on in the world and as a younger middle aged man I have had the good fortune of living through what has been labeled recessions and crises and what I find after having been through some of these ups and downs is that the truth of our philosophy that what we seek to learn and understand here serves us very well. That my life seems to be about my prayer and my meditation and my intentionality and not about what the New York Times or the evening news says it’s about. What I would do from a place of faith from a place of comfort is saying wouldn’t it be wonderful if everybody knew that they could learn practices and that they could come into an understanding that would cause them to be more comfortable in the midst of our fears. What we say very often is wouldn’t it be lovely if it all went away and the answer is no and my friend and teacher Dr. William Hart use to say that some fundamentalists would come and knock on his door and ask him didn’t he want to sit on the right hand of God and watch the parade of life pass by and he said no, that is boring. That we like a life filled with that which calls us to remember, that which calls us to know the truth, that which as Ernest Holmes says to see through the midst into the eternal and changeless reality.
So I am enjoying teaching the class that we are in now which is the foundations class and also during the year and into the new year in 09 I thought I would like to teach some basics and really make it available to everyone and I found this book called new thought philosophy methods and practices and the sub heading is mind remakes your world. The reason I think the book is so interesting and this one is from James Dobbs and these are souls who are no longer with us and they were the for runners of the teaching and offering a philosophy and I love how great souls like Michael Beckwith, and Harry Morgan Moses and Mary Manin Morissey and great souls like these we interrupt these lessons and we think we are really have found it. We have insight and then we read and you go oh this soul found this seventy five years ago and we come to understand that literally we stand on the shoulders of giants but what we also understand is that the omnipresent now is the entrance through which our deepest insights and our deepest knowing can come forth. That it is not about dishonoring it’s about honoring all that have gone before, honoring that the wisdom of the Christ, eyes have not seen and ears have not heard nor has been given unto thee the heart of man the glory which god has added. So what that says to us is what has been given to us is a deeper level from the actual acceptance of ourselves as divinity. It says in psalms it says do you not know ye are gods you are all children of the most high. The answer is note to God no don’t know don’t realize that yet working on it. If we really knew that we would live from our exalted state of consciousness and so here is what Mr. Dobbs says about the simple method of attainment.
He says there is a way by which one may bring this about providing he is willing to apply himself. This is where the difficulty lies as a rule we are all not always willing to do something about it. It is by the way of the law of love so the simple method of attainment is by the way of the law of love for love is the way of acceptance. I will love my good and take possession of it and live in the fullness of the heavenly abundance thus I will glory God by my living. I will love my good and take possession of it and live in the fullness of heavenly abundance because when I do it I will glorify God by my living. Everyone touch themselves and say I will glorify God by my living now can you see if you are going to glorify god by your living it is probably not your pain your fears your doubts and worries where you wan to put your attention. Because you might have a hard time glorifying God by means of your fears your doubts your pains and your worries yes? You are not going to glorify god by that your going to glorify god by living by becoming the abundant reality that I am knowing that is there that is not subject to the world, that is subject to simply the law of my own consciousness as my friend Johnny Coleman when she had to raise millions of dollars to build this giant temple that sits three thousand people in Chicago they said Johnny you don’t know how big a project that is and Johnny said you don’t know how my god is! And we are the ones who must be the place that embodies the bigger God. So surrendering to the vision is surrendering to the vision of me as the sovereign authority. The I AM that I AM my relationship with the divine which means that metaphorically is what Israelite means. An Israelite is one who wrestles with God, not with the world but always with God. So that we begin to say that the problem is not with the air conditioner in my car, the problem is the leak in my consciousness that causes me not to have an air conditioner in my car. And the leak in my consciousness has nothing to do with the BMW it has to do with me and God. And so here is what is says in Deuteronomy in 11-12 through 14 and this is reminded you this going back to the old testament but the Israelite is the one who takes his argument up with god and this is what it says. It is in the land of the Lord your God cares for you, it is in the higher realm the land of the law see the Lord if we translate if from either old or new testament to new thought terms means the law, that which is the law of our life the holy ghost the servant to us is that non conscious mind that creates and works and does all the good for us and the challenge for is to get our conscious mind and our non conscious mind in alignment with each other and that’s in fact why we came to this incarnation to do. So that I know that what I am is what God is and my word is the law of god and my word is the activity of god and my presence is the very presence of God. It is in the land of the lord your god cares for the eyes of the lord your god are continually on it. The law is continually on the land of the lord from the beginning to the end of the year so if you faithfully obey the commands that I have given you today and here is the command. If you faithfully obey the commands I have given you today to love the lord your god to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul then I will send rain on your land, this is the land that God cares for I will send rain on your land in its season both autumn and spring rain so that you may gather your grains new wine and oil so that you can have it all, in other wards. If you will love your god with all your heart and all your soul everything will be done unto you and it is the same thing this was the old testament and in the new testament Jesus the great rabbi came forth to fulfill the law and he said consider the lilies of the field they toil not, yet Solomon in all of his glory in his finest robes his best clothes not Solomon in all of his glory is one of these who loves the lord their god with all their heart and all there soul and understands that the law of god will provide for you, the law of god will provide for you, not the law of wall street, not the law of the US congress not the law of the world economy the law of god will provide for you if you will raise yourself to that exalted level of consciousness. Sovereign means above any capacity for anything to interfere with it. I am what God is and I am that and when I come into that level of sovereignty that my consciousness knows and knows that it knows when I come into that level of sovereignty all of a sudden things begin to work. So what is the thing that I have to like if I’m afraid in the world and as we already mentioned things are happening in the world and if I become afraid in the world I become part of the creation of greater fear, do you see that? If you become afraid you are in fact creating greater fear, if a lot of people are afraid around you isn’t it really easy to just go and be afraid with them? Then you hide in the closet, you hide your light under a bushel and it will not shine because you are running into the closet of fear and hiding with everybody. When the truth is I AM is the sovereign authority and if I can rise up into my own ability to be that and how do we do that. We turn away and you turn your fear to faith and the problem will dissipate but don’t keep looking at the problem. You have got to turn your fear to faith and the problem will dissipate and so how do we turn our fear to faith? We begin to put our intention we begin to invest on the things that are important.
Are your friendships subject to the news, is your ability to make an investment to help other people is that affected by Wall Street? Is your ability to make an investment in spiritual healing if that affected by the world? See I can invest in friendship and helpfulness and spiritual healing, I can invest in my own goals dreams and desires to have a more successful life. If I invest in my own desires to have a more successful life am I limited by anything in the world, no? Fear will limit my capacity to invest in my successful life and so we begin to say I have to begin to work on myself to be pulled by the vision of my own success, to be pulled by the vision of my life fulfilled, to be pulled by the vision of what you mean by your life fulfilled. So we start in the physical reality and physical reality says what I mean by my life fulfilled is greater health, greater wealth greater love and greater intimacy in relationship yes? Then from greater intimacy in relationship to have a greater intimacy with God so that we find that all of the things that are really worth investment on are not subject to any of the information in the world and we will find just as we have always found throughout time that quote unquote in hard times some people always excel. So we have to make a decision we don’t have to look at the world and play dumb to it and say there are no hard times no we can say no I am simple not choosing that I’m making another decision because I have seen in my life the recessions and the expanding of the dollar high and the dollar low and all of the time who I am in consciousness has to go out and deal with the world just the way the world is. But I am in consciousness and who I am in consciousness has to do with am I wrestling, am I loving the lord my god with all my heart and with all my soul? Now wait a minute if you’re afraid in your life and this is not an attack, fear is normal. But if you’re afraid in your life and you put your attention on your fear to see what happened where your attention goes your energy flows. You put your attention on your fear and then you start to feel worse and the more you feel worse the easier it is to join with somebody else who feels worse and we get into a downward pattern of feeling bad and how are you going to love your lord with all your heart and all your soul if your so busy feeling that right? See it is the other way around if I begin to love my god with all my heart and with all my soul I can then take the bad feeling to god and say God see it is an Israelite I don’t have to write a letter to the editor to the wall street journal as an Israelite I can take it back and say God I don’t like this fear I am not getting love and support and I cannot even find the joy in my life in the midst of all this fear, help me and you will be amazed what will happen when you turn to the universe and say those words, “help me”. I have said those words to the universe hundreds and thousands of times and I don’t have any worry in my mind that I am going to turn to the universe and ask for help one more time. Do you think the universe cares how many times I have asked for help? If the universe provides help the infinite supply of the universe provides help and I use help a lot how much infinite supply of help is left? All of it and so we begin to see of course is that what I don’t feel bad about is not my problem it’s gods problem but it’s my responsibility to take the problem to god. What I don’t feel bad about is not my problem its god’s problem but it’s my responsibility to take the problem to god. And when I stop wrestling with the world and I start taking it to god and then we say god in the midst of my fear can I still be a beneficial presence, can I still bring something good forward in my life and the answer is yes. But if you don’t know where your going if you don’t know where there is no vision it says in proverbs where there is no vision the people parish. Well if you flip it around where there is vision the people will flourish and so when you say I am people, I am a people and I want to know what the vision of my life is? The vision of my life is myself as a sovereign being able to enjoy the life that I am. To enjoy the life that I am which is the one thing that has been given to me to enjoy it so much that I am willing to love my god with all my heart and with all my soul and if I’m not enjoying my life and since you are where god is found in your life do you see that? Your the place where god is found in your life, you find god in your life and your the only place where you can find god in your life, when you realize that you cannot be loving god with all your love with all your heart and all your soul if your not loving your own life. And if you do not love your own life I would take that up with god. I would take that up with god so is what our friend Michael Beckwith said and I want to look again what are the opportunities in the midst of all of this stuff how do I hold my faith, how do I open my doors to receive, how do I become a giver in the world that seems to be in lack and limitation. The answer is when I begin to tap into the well spring of infinite supply then I can tap into everything that I need in order to love my life. Part of loving my life is the function of how much love you can give into the world isn’t it? Part of loving your life is how much love you can give in the world. You have to love your life from a higher place right? How are you today well this is the day the lord has made meaning the law of life spun the earth around got me some daylight and I have a whole new day and what am I going to create with that. Michael says thought forms that are emerging from a sense of connection are much more powerful than thought forms that emerge from a separate sense. Thought forms that emerge from my belonging to god are much more powerful than thought forms that emerge from belonging to IBM; do you see what I’m saying? If I belong to my portfolio and my portfolio is determining how I am going to be you can see that is a thought form of separation. Where if I say my portfolio comes from the fact that I have a relationship with god and god created the portfolio and god will sustain and maintain my portfolio regardless of what the world is doing. By the way my portfolio only has value when I sell it when it goes down in value it is probably not a good time to sell do you see? So I am waiting for my god to reveal itself not in fear but in faith right? So a few light workers mitigates and neutralizes negativity that thousands of people are holding and we the light workers we are like the mid wives we are holding the template of what is trying to emerge. Oh no I am not holding any template I am just working through my fears. As you work through your fears the new idea thoughts emerging from connection you are the place through which it is emerging.
Here is a powerful line what will happen the variable is totally dependent on you and me and every other light worker on the earth. We are responsible for co-creating the new earth. We will accomplish this transformation by using the creative facilities of our thoughts, our words our actions and feelings. Every single moment we are either adding light to the world or shadows depending on what we are empowering and what we are focusing our attention on. Every moment we are either adding light or shadow, you are either moving powerfully towards what you want or powerfully moving away from what you want. So when you notice that you do not love your life that you’re not having a good time it’s you and me that have to shift. And it is you and me that have the opportunity to go to god and say god what is going on here, I don’t like this feeling, help me to transmute this into love and joy and peace and harmony and feelings that I do mean. Show me the way and when we become that way with god, so here is what is happening. A void is left where the destructive energy and vibration consciousness once existed. Can you see that everything that is being torn down is creating a void right? It is a scientific fact that nature abhors a vacuum. If humanity fills these voids with the patterns of perfection and of a new earth then we will create new perfection and a new earth. The pattern is arising with us even in the presence of our fears, even in the presence of our fears the new pattern of what is possible is emerging within us and we say no there is no new pattern. No it’s emerging within us because what is slipping away isn’t what we want and so here is where we go. How then do I fill the void that is being created? You put in there your version and vision of your life. I seek to be, to be a beneficial presence, I seek to be a vibration of love, I seek to be a vibration of joy, I seek to be a vibration of healing and teaching and helping and supporting and when you decide that’s what you’re going to be, you are putting a new pattern where the old pattern was. And as we begin to do this and how do we do this and remember the quote I shared with you last week be yourself. Be the most you you can be because Oscar Wilde everybody else is already taken. And by magnifying you we begin to create what we want. The less you push the more things happen, the less you worry about things and try to force them the easier it gets. The less you battle with things the smoother your life goes, the less you try to do hocus pocus the simpler your life becomes. And you become a simple person making a simple choice and you watch everything come to you from your Israelite consciousness because I am always working with my god not with my world. My god creates my world, not my world creates my god. My god creates my world and then things will get easier and as we begin to connect, as we go upstairs and we begin to connect in this very rapidly changing world our new roles will reveal themselves. Our very needed rolls will reveal themselves and the rolls before us will begin to open up very clearly and we will be united with new projects and new people and some very new ways of being, when we live upstairs in the midst of that which is this creating a vacuum and we fill it from on high. And this is our opportunity you and I these are exciting times and ours is to move forward in them and not backwards. In the bible Philippians 3:13 it says forgetting those things which are behind. The world and what the world is doing is all a fact it’s already happened, forgetting those things that are left behind and reaching forth under those things which are before us. I press forward and I do not look at the world to tell me how I Am going to be, I look at god to help me to become the I AM that I AM. Do you not know ye are Gods, children of the most high, Note to God working on that in my consciousness right now, love Harry! That’s the truth it is time that you and I recognize we are not waiting for the saints, the sage or the mystic or prophet to come tell us again and write it in a book that we are gods. We are looking to write it in our hearts, to write it in our lives, to have the god that we seek to be manifested as love and light and truth and joy and abundance in the world. And how does that happen someone will look upon you and look upon your blessings and ask you how does that happen and you tell them the same way that you get to Carnegie Hall practice, practice, practice. And the deeper my spiritual practice the more powerful my demonstration the more powerful my demonstration the more glory I am living in God as god with god and for god. With all my heart and all my soul I love my god, I love the I AM that I AM and together let us take this love into the world and explore the possibilities.
