It's Your Dream - Let's Just Do It!

The theme for the New Year is it’s your dream let’s just do it. I had the opportunity to seed this idea and so just as you have said your receptivity statement I would like for you to remain open and receptive because what it is I would like you to understand by the end of this lesson is that your dream is the reason that we are here! And I would also go so far as to say that your dream is part of the absolutely essential reality of the intelligence of God. Let me say that again everyone touch yourself and say I AM that dream the one in the middle of you is absolutely the intelligence of God that is the avenue through which that goal in the human condition which is peace on earth and goodwill toward all that is the avenue through which that goal is going to happen. But we tend to say how does my dream, my selfish concerns my things that I want for my life how does that have to do with the big cosmic picture and I will say the cosmic picture is so big that your dream is essential to the fulfilling of that reality. The cosmic dream is so big that your dream is essential and the cosmic dream could not be fulfilled unless yours is also fulfilled within. So what we begin to look at is the possibility that everything that is happening is happening in my life. As Edmond Almond who sang this song to us and he shared the gentleman in Hawaii was a musician who only had one intention that his music would touch people’s lives. And by singing in his island in his groups by finding something that struck his soul that song now resonates in that version all over the world. So here is the deal the universe starts in one place and within that one place in that one cosmic reality is all things. And we tend to think that this idea that Ralph Waldo Emerson the powerful thinker from the last century suggested that all things were concentric and inter related circles. Very often we talk about the upward forward spiral of evolution, the upward forward progressive spiral of evolution and so what we believe and some people say if you believe so much in God how can you also believe in evolution? The answer is what we understand fully and completely is what God involves evolves. And that God has already involved everything there is in all of creation. God has already involved in that single starting point everything there is in creation. Now you can also see that if were born in the image and likeness of God we must be born from that single starting point. That all things begin and are included in the one and all things emerge from the one. So the shape of the upward forward progressive spiral is shape that you see very often in nature. You will see in a conk shell that it starts from that point and spreads all the way out and wraps around and around and it is involved in itself all starting from the center point. If you have the good fortune to go to the coast to be in awe of the greatness of God. You will see that every wave that generates from the ocean starts from that same place. It starts from that same point to become that wave before it rolls all the way into the shore. So what we see then is the starting point is here and from this starting point a circle of creation grows out. So you do an iteration of your life for example if you were in first grade you would say this was the first grade iterations and when you came back to base, when you completed that year you would return to that same place and you would go to your second grade iteration. Starting from the same place you would go to the third grade and so on. So we see that life is this shape always starting from the same point and going out. Now you’re born in the image and likeness of God would it be possible since you could be your own individual shape, would it be possible for you to create a different pattern? If you are free and this is why people ask us this all of the time, if the God that you believe in is so good then why does God allow these things to happen? The answer is the god that we know is the only god starts from the same place and created us in its image and likeness and we can do with it what we want. Now to the degree that we match this pattern our lives will be harmonious. To the degree that we come from the center our lives will be harmonious. To the degree that we go independently our lives become a target do you see? Not because God is against you but because god is god and god cannot be anything but god and God cannot change its ways just because you decide to do something different. So what were talking about is every dream comes from this same center and when we live in the center all of our dreams are going to come from that same place. So going all around the room everyone’s dream they are all coming from the same place and everyone of those dreams is going to support every other dream. The dreams that are incongruous in our lives are born from this love. That I will do whatever I want regardless of the law of God and since the law of God is God’s law and since it is what keeps the universe in tact the law of God is God’s law and it is what keeps the universe in tact; god’s law must be harmonious. So we are often asked the question if we come down into this dimension and in this dimension we say my dream is separate from your dream and I had better get mine before you get yours or there will not be enough and I’ll take this land and you take that land and I’ll fight you over this land you see how that all happened way back in the beginning and it has been going on in that false formation for the longest time but do you notice God is not hurt by that. Do you see that that no matter what goes on in this picture, no matter what we create by doing our independent isolated thing God is still god and this will eventually crumble because there is no law to support it and this will always be intact. So when we say God is perfect were not looking out at God’s creation and saying everything in the world is perfect no were saying what we have done with God’s creation is imperfect but God is still perfect no matter what we have done with it. And we can if we decide change our mind and put our circle right back here in the center and begin to cooperate with the law of God itself. And that’s what our dream is; our dream is the avenue through which all things work together for good. Well say whose dream well your dream, your dream is the avenue through which all things work together for good. Because your dream is the way through which all of those things are happening. Now let me remind you of some pretty powerful new thought principle. For you who are here for the first time we are a new thought ancient wisdom tradition meaning we grab all the wisdom from the universe from wherever we can find it and we use it to our advantage. Now does that seem like a reasonable good plan? To find any knowledge that you can use anywhere and use it to your advantage that’s a good plan. So what we know is that we are the children of God and that here is the new thought principle that was announced in 1916 at the conference of new thought people in Chicago. To teach the infinitude of the supreme one so we are talking about to teach that there is nothing that can happen in any of these circles that isn’t embraced in this one place. To teach the infiniteness of the one, to infinitude of the one includes every circle that we can create from the one. So we are clear to that we are teaching that and were going to teach the divinity of man. Now in the nineteen hundreds we were not gender aware as we are now and so the divinity of man means of humanity of man and women together. So we are teaching the divinity of the individual touch your heart center and say I AM so were talking about the divinity of you. Now since we teach the divinity of you we are obviously teaching the harmony of you because if you were not divine you could not be harmonious and if you were not harmonious you could not be eternal and if you are divine you must be harmonious in order to be eternal. There can be nothing that rises up to destroy you. There is nothing that can rise up that can destroy me. There is no circle no matter who created it that can destroy me because every circle is within me when I am living from this place of divinity within myself. So we are rising up so we teach the divinity of the supreme one, the divinity of the human being, and his infinite possibilities through the creative power of constructive thinking. The Infinite possibilities you have through the creative power of constructive thinking. Now that also means you have the power of destructive thinking, do you see that? You cannot have the power of constructive thinking without also simultaneously having the power of destructive thinking. So where do you think the power of your destructive thinking is emerging from and I will give you the answer your fears. Hence we hear the idea turn the fear to faith and the problem dissipates. Faith in what, faith in the divine one, faith in the divine center, faith in everything that emerges from this center never being absorbed by any circle that came out of this set, do you see it? Because all things come from here. I am going to give you Ralph Waldo Emerson’s words and as you can tell Ralph Waldo Emerson requires that we look a little deeper because he did not really speak English. While the eternal generation of circle proceeds the eternal generator always survives. While the eternal generation of circles is always going on the eternal generator abides. That central life is somewhat superior to its creation. This place is superior to anything that emerges from it because everything emerges from it, do you see that? That central life is somewhat superior to its creation, superior to knowledge and thought and contains all of its circles. This the eternal generator is always present in anything that we generate and it contains everything that can be generated. So if we have created any kind of false circle all that has to happen is we have to return to the eternal generator. Now didn’t all of us emerge from here? You had to have emerged from there which means you have to be one with everything that can possible emerge from there. The only way you could be in any kind of disharmony is if you create it from your own center which was different from this center. We call this ego or will but we could look at it another way from spiritual law you see the wonderful thing about our teaching is that it’s simple. It is very simple we grant you it’s not that easy but it’s very simple and the simple reality is every though we think is being responded to by the law of life. No wait did I say just your constructive thoughts no, did I say just your happy thoughts no, every though you think is being responded to by the law of life. So one of the great things for us that when we know that we then have to only ask one question. We often talk about the laws of electricity the analogy that I often use is if you take your hair driver to England it will not work and if you did somehow manage to plug it in your dryer would be fried because there is a difference amount of power coming from that circuitry. So when you go to plug your dryer in Europe and it looked like it was converted boom you have a fried dryer, and if you have a fried dryer you can say why does god pick on me? Do you see the European electrical system wasn’t picking on you, you did not understand it you did not use it the right way so if fried your hair dryer. If you want to use that socket you need a converter and if you have a converter you can plug the dryer in and it will work just fine. So here everybody is surrounded by this law of life, everybody is using this law of life and most people don’t know they are using the law of life but you do, the difference is are you paying attention to it. Are you paying attention to it and here is how to use the law of life constructively. Here is how your dream becomes a reality, your dream becomes the negative that were putting in front of the lens that is going to project the image. Your dream becomes that negative when your dream operates with the law it only has to ask this one thing, is it good for me? Is it good for everyone who’s affective by it? Does it bring forth a greater degree of livingness? Is it good for me, is it good for everyone who is affected by it, does it bring forth a greater degree of livingness? Those are the tools by which you can use the law. Now there is one other thing that the great thinker Ernest Holmes from the last century reminded us of when were using this law he says we should make sure to create no delusion. So now let me give you the laws again, how to use the laws of life. Remember everybody is using the law of life automatically no matter what. You don’t have to ever walk into this sanctuary; you did not ever have to hear the term new thought. It doesn’t matter if you’re Buddhist Jewish Christian gay straight Catholic it makes no difference everybody uses the law of life. They just either know it or they don’t know it. There either using it constructive or destructive by means of how awake they are. We have people ask all the time how come your sanctuaries are not full all the time and the answer is if you come here we are going to ask you to do two things, number one think and not everyone is willing to do that and number two practice. Because if you cannot take responsibility we cannot help you. I am a great skier and it was such fun and I can tell people the rules and now in skiing you have to have your legs forward. You must have your legs forward now we tend to think if I’m going fast what does the body want to do but to go backwards. In skiing it is completely backwards in skiing you lean this way your going to fall you have to have your weight forward. As soon as you go back it’s a law it’s a principle it has nothing to do with the skis. If you lean back your going to fall it is guaranteed. So I will tell people over and over again you have to get forward but I will start to fall and then you lean back and what happens when you lean back I fell I know that’s the principle. You have to stay forward and so this is the way the principle works and this is how we use the law the same way. You have to use the law in accord with its nature, you absolutely have to use the law in accord with its nature no matter how good the skier is I am a really good skier and I’m really good at teaching skiing and no matter how much I want them to be leaning forward if they are not leaning forward they are going to fall down. And it has nothing to do with the teacher and it has nothing to do with the principle it’s just the way that it is! You have to be forward in order to turn, in order to use the law of life you have to know is my dream good for me. So I am going to tell you my dream because what we want you to do today is next week I will be doing a three week series in the three week series I will reveal to you what I seek to reveal to our students in the first year class. Now I still want you to come to class because you will get it better in class. If you invest thirty or sixty hours in your spiritual life your going to get more than five Sunday’s at an hour a Sunday. It’s energy in and energy out and it’s perfectly logical. I hope you are planning to come to class coming to class will change your life. If you really want to change your life you come to class that’s how you do it it takes an investment of energy in to get energy out. So I am going to do this for the next three weeks but here is what I want you to understand today. Your dream is the avenue thru which your life will be fulfilled but your dream is the avenue thru which our lives will be fulfilled. No I know what you’re thinking no If I’m a member and I give and he gets paid by the church and so of course his life is fulfilled if my life is fulfilled! No you’re not getting it I mean their are people out there who are not getting it yet. Your life your dream is the avenue thru which the whole plan works through which all of divinity works. Now there is one challenge in that in order for all of divinity to work through your dream do you see what is necessary? You have to have a dream cause if you don’t have a dream how are you going to make a dream come true. So I’m going to share with you my dream. My dream is because I understand the heart of this teaching. The heart of this teaching says I’m a being of love, the heart of this teaching says I have an unlimited capacity to forgive, the heart of this teaching says I will grow and expand in spirit forever it’s not just this lifetime it’s every lifetime and I just don’t want this lifetime to be filled with quality I want every part of my life to be filled with quality. So here is my dream in spiritual community. My dream is that we step beyond politics my dream is we step beyond ways of being and different ways of doing things and we just come together in this community and make a resolve to see each other as God. Just to see every other supposed mortal in this room as God. Not depending on how old she is not depending on how long they have been around, not depending on anything else but to see each other as God and what happens if we begin to function from there? What would happen if we really yes really say ok if you want to know about politics just join the church choir but now what if we just stepped beyond that? What if we just went to the heart of the teaching and said when I come to this church I’m going to surpass myself and I’m going to see everyone as God. I’m going to hold myself accountable to my own God qualities and I’m going to be in community with God souls, just because it’s never been done and I want to try it that’s my dream and I want to try it. Now some people’s dreams are to build their careers some people’s dreams are to get a new stream of income, some people’s dreams are to get a new job, some people’s dream are to get a new relationship, some people’s dream are to fall deeply in love, some people’s dream are to feel secure in their life. Whatever your dream is your dream will work together with my dream, this is the thing that I asked you to be open too. Can you imagine if we were at the full time business of pursuing our dreams that you would find that this center’s only existence is to fulfill your dreams? And you will find that every song that we sing, every lecture that we give, every class that goes forth, everything were saying is designed specifically for your dream. Well you say how could that be? Try it because that is how big God is, that’s how magnificent God is that from that point everybody’s dream works together for the good of all the rest, and that’s the new world and that’s the new era and that’s the new way and that’s our opportunity here. To become the ones who are living their lives about your dream and were just going to do that. I am asking people in the audience what is your dream? I am going to enter into a whole new phase of my life a bigger version of me whatever that would look like. I want to be financially independent in every thing were doing here and which will give you thoughts and ideas that inspirations about your fulfillment of your dream. To share spiritual principle as a living reality, to have the visceral feeling of sharing spiritual principle and letting it go out as everything happening here is about your dream. I am tired of thinking about it and I want to do it. I want to be in creation of my projects and that is your dream. I am a published author now and I want everyone to buy and read my books. Do you see that all the dreams will work together to a larger good because the center embraces all of the circles, when we decided to live from that center point? So you have only one thing that I ask you to do this week which is what is your dream really and are you willing to put that dream in the forefront of your consciousness when you walk in these doors. And what I can tell you is all of God and all of the living spirit and all of the angels and all of the ark angels and all of the dimensions on the other side of life and all the physical forces on this side of life are going to work together for your good. This is the truth of who you are, this is the truth of what were doing here and hence I invite you to think about it this year, its 2010 so let’s begin again in 2010. It’s your dream let’s just do that. And I invite you think on these things as together we explore the possibilities. Namaste...................................
