Home in the Wealth of My Soul

Today’s lesson is entitled home in the wealth of my soul and we are in a program called spirit of home and spirit of home is our understanding that in fact what I am is consciousness and only when I am home in consciousness that I know that is my home can I really be home. So we are in the process of learning what is this thing called consciousness where I live move and have my being and can I begin to live from there rather than from this physical experience that tries to tell me that I begin and end at the bottom of my toes and the top of my head. When that is not the truth about me and who I am is an immortal spiritual being superior to my mind my body and my experience. So to really know who you are is not simply to say that I know that I’m an immortal spiritual being but it is to come into the experience of the feeling of what it is. St. John of the cross says the light of faith doesn’t improve our human intellect, it overwhelms it. And so sometimes when were in our spiritual journey we learn ideas and we want to grasp the ideas and we say now I know those ideas and those ideas are mine and now I’m finished so I may as well find a new church. I got it, I came to get God I got God I got as much God as there is and now I’ll find a new hut. Well the truth of the matter is that you’re not trying to get something that you understand you’re trying to get an experience which is a way of living. So I will show you a slide which is what we work on in our classes and we consider ourselves a healing and teaching center which means we teach principles and by means of the principles that we teach we understand that a healing comes forth once you begin to know and practice living as what you actually are, a healing will come forth. Healing we understand is not the creating of anything it is the revealing of that which is already there. It is the revealing of the wholeness the pattern the completeness that is already the truth underneath you. That truth was spoken about by the ancient Moses when he said underneath there are the underlying arms. There is a place where you can fall back into what is underneath and you can rest and you can find comfort there. Hence the poem in the Ernest Holmes book the Science of mind you will find comfort and rest within our home and all are welcome here. And this physical place our Spirit Works Center in Burbank is simply the out picturing of a spiritual home, a place where you can find comfort and rest but that home is really a place in consciousness and then it reflects in the physical world. So what we are looking at here as we go to embrace these ideas here is really what it is if you look at the model of our teaching, if you look to the model of our understanding what you’re seeking to do is embody that. What we see that embodying a concept is much more than simply looking at a diagram or even being able to explain a diagram or even being able to understand a diagram but rather the ideas that the diagram may symbolize. What we see here is that we are spiritual mental and physical beings and that we show up on the physical plane only as emotional and physical beings and most of our challenges are in our emotional and physical life and you see that? Your challenges are showing up in only one part of the spectrum and the reason they are showing up in one part of the spectrum is because who you are is actually that symbol at the top so lets go to another slide and you look at the middle section near the top is soul so you see that star is representing that top word, your soul. You saw in all of those synonyms for the word soul there are a lot of things to understand. You and I and all of us I believe how many people believe that they have a soul? It is a unanimous thing in the room that we know and understand that we do have a soul but yet when we say to someone well how does your soul feel about that? We also get confused and a little lost and what? Because we have become so accustomed to living from our body and from our emotions, from our physical experience and from the emotions that accompany our physical experience that we have forgotten is that we are is immersed in the very center of spirit. Now in those collection of words in that center you would see that the word substance shows up in the middle. Now wait a minute we said the word soul shows up in the middle and yes there are many synonyms and more than one meaning to a word, and what we know in the word soul is it’s so big that words will not even capture it. We can put words all around it, we can describe all of the qualities of soul we can tell you all the things that soul is and all the things that soul does and it still isn’t soul because soul is greater than our intellect. And you’re not going to know the spirit of life through your intellect, you’re going to know the spirit of life through your faith and then we go further. How will I know the spirit of life through your faith? It finds its right order in terms of law? Oh here is the line from Dr. Holmes when your faith finds its right order in terms of law through that consciousness of faith in right order with law miracles happen. So are we interested in living our lives that way? And do you see that if you wanted to live your life in such a way that miracles are happening you’re going to have to step beyond your brain. You’re going to have to step beyond your intellect; you’re going to have to step beyond your concept to describe what God is. Were going to have to come into a different kind of experience because the word that co-mingles that is a synonym with soul is substance and your soul is immersed in the substance of the universe. Well how much substance of the universe, your soul is immersed in all of it. Well then how come I’m not having the experience of infinite substance? Well because sometimes we go down to the third level and we confuse ourselves by thinking that substance is money. We think wealth is money we think wealth is something that will provide for my physical being so that I can control my emotions so I am not out of control in physical life and we think that would be well but no your emotions are actually part of your wealth and a reflection of your wealth. Isn’t one of your favorite things is to look into someone’s eyes and actually say I love you and actually feel it. We say well I cannot do that with strangers or what if I do that with someone with the same sex what will they think, I don’t care I love you. And isn’t that a powerful feeling and isn’t that something good and isn’t that something that if our emotions get in the way we are willing to shut it right off. Well I would love you but and we are willing to trade soul wealth infinite soul wealth for an emotion. We are willing to trade infinite soul wealth for a physical condition. Well why do we do that because we have not been living with our soul because when we come into a center like this and we look at things and say I don’t understand God but when you do understand God you will still not have the intellect to understand God you will have the feeling, the experience of God and will you understand all of God no because God will still take you to new horizons and new vistas beyond what you have already seen, even when you get to the place where you think you know it all! Spirit is not done with you and their are other vista’s and other galaxies and other dimensions and other experiences to know and other things to know about love why because your immersed in the infiniteness of love and how much can you have and the answer is as much as you can embody. The principle remains the same for everybody how much of the wealth and spirit and you are surrounded by substance and I am going to ask you to repeat a line. I am one with the substance of all of life which I can use in any manner according to my wills and desires. But if you keep looking down here in physical world where is the substance you disconnect yourself from the very substance that you want to try and you don’t even recognize that your soul is immersed in that substance and according to the law of God you may draw anything from that substance into your life. Then God bring it to me as money and we have taken the infinite and shrunk it all the way down to one form of commodity and we think that’s wealth and we are diluted. We have talked about this many times in classes and workshops but isn’t it true and I have said this statement and I believe it is true that right here from where were standing now within ten miles circumference of where we are right now I guarantee there are more than at least a thousand souls who have tons of money and they are miserable. There are people in New York City in Los Angeles in San Francisco in Philadelphia Boston Maine the biggest most prosperous cities in the world and they are wealthy people with all kinds of money who are miserable. So you see your logic that if I only had money I would be wealthy is a false concept and it is simply not so. The only way that you could even enjoy money is if you had wealth in your soul so that you knew how to enjoy money. You can go to Disneyland and you can say God there are so many people my feet are so tired I have stood in so many lines and you can go to Disneyland and be in the magic kingdom and have no concept of wealth and you will not experience the wealth of the magic kingdom. Why because you will say this is for kids ok and therefore you cut yourself out of it and it is not for you. And you will never notice that you are walking around in a three dimensional dream with a constant stream of life force fed into it. That is what your walking around in and dream but you can walk around in a dream in the dream of the kingdom of earth have you ever been to Yosemite Valley? Have you ever seen the magnificence of that and you could be in the middle of Yosemite Valley and say where God’s abundance is supposedly? You see instantly when we draw those scenarios you see the soul has a right to decide what this physical experience will be like and yet most of us are letting the physical experience tell us what our soul will be like and we wonder why when we operate the thing backwards it doesn’t work right. Well simply shift and quite looking in the mirror and trying to change the mirror. Have you ever noticed that when you look in the mirror and you don’t like the image you can rub the mirror all you want and it’s not going to change it! We have to go back into what is creating the image and so what is creating the image of your wealth and are you willing to shift, are you willing to let go of the idea today that your not wealthy and discover and even live with the question if I am wealthy what does my wealth look like? Even opening your mind that much will cause radical shift in your life. Well if I am wealthy if my soul is immersed in the substance of all life and everybody’s soul is. This is not the secret chicken church and we do not have any thing to learn or is hidden there is no secret way that your going to unfold the wealth of your world on their is a secret way through your own consciousness through your own thinking processes. If you don’t shift your consciousness you can invest any money you want anywhere and nothing will change because everything is not happening from the world into your soul it’s happening from your soul into the world. Let me say that again everything is not happening from the world into your soul it’s happening from your soul into the world. Well you say my soul doesn’t feel rich your soul does feel rich you just lost track of your soul. Because why because you don’t have any intellectual concept big enough to grab your soul and you think there must be something wrong with my intellectual concept of God which is not letting me have room so I’m going to flit around now. I will just flit around now and I know who tells truth that I like oh Michal Beckwith, Jim Locker tells truth that I like, North Hollywood tells truth that I like and I’m going to dance around and see wherever the truth is and wonder why I can’t embody anything. Do you see that you’re dancing around on your toes instead of anchoring yourself in the infinite and being the place in which you call it forth because you know who you are! And who you are is much greater than you appear to be and has always been and will always be. You mean it’s not going to land for you until you land. Yes that is what I mean these principles will not become alive for you; you will not discover the wealth of your soul until you make a choice to start living from your soul. Well how do I start living from my soul and one thing that you do know about your soul you know how you like to be right and wrong in this dimension? In this dimension we really like to be right and we have a word for that part of us that likes to be right we call that the ego. You can always recognize the ego because it likes things to be right which means it likes things to be black and white, it likes things to be just so, well that’s right that’s wrong that’s clear that’s fuzzy, I see the difference I know what’s going on. But your soul doesn’t do that your soul always stays open to the much larger thing what is love. You cannot find the answer to that one you can be the experience of love but you can’t grasp it. What is my soul and you notice the same thing when you start to ask me what is my soul well that is too big for me to grasp and we have to get out of our egoist mind that always wants to be right or always wants to understand it. When we understand from the greatest mystics of all time that your mind will not encompass God, your mind will not give you faith, your mind is the pathway through which faith can be revealed and faith is so much larger than mind. As a matter of fact faith uses mind to create whatever that faith desires according to that faith. And faith is what an aspect of your consciousness so when will you decide I will live with my soul. Whatever the problem is in your life, whatever the problem is in your life I promise you it is not your eternal problem. You know I like the diagram of God but it doesn’t feel like God to me and I am wondering what does God feel like and I say I don’t know well there is this perfect law that responds to me by corresponding and I will tell you what it feels like. If you pray for a parking place and you get it that feels pretty God like doesn’t it? We encourage you to pray for parking places why not because this is the church of the divine parking place but rather when you pray for a parking place and you get it you begin to see that you’re connected to the universe. You begin to see that there is a quality of my life that responds to me according to my hopes and desires and beliefs. And it is not that hard to convince ourselves that there must be a parking place and so we go into a crowded lot and we say I know there is one power that power is perfect that power is the perfect life of God and it’s Christmas season and everyone is shopping oh no someone else might know this there may not be enough spots oh my God and we are willing to hold ourselves accountable for our belief about parking places see? The angles like it when I manifest parking places right? But we are willing to stand firm about the belief that we can manifest a parking place and it’s not about the parking place it’s about the fact that you got it and if you get the parking place and you forget to say thank you you may have missed the whole point of the parking place. Did you notice that parking places came and they came to pass did you notice? Whatever the problem is at the moment it is not the problem of your life and it will be solved and there will be an answer and out of your consciousness will come a new problem and it will be solved and there will be an answer and out of your consciousness will come a new problem until finally you start looking at your life and going how come I keep manifesting problems and the answer is because you are using the problems to help yourself to grow. When can I stop manifesting problems when you decide there is another way for you to grow? Oh well the problems that I’m manifesting lets look at the problem of mortgage or rent and lets say your mortgage or rent is due the first of the month and so you struggle and there is a late fee if your past the sixth of the month and so your holding vigil, your holding thought there is an answer, there is a way for me to manifest the substance to pay for my mortgage because it is right and good that I should be comfortable in God and God provides and I am that and we get our mental equivalent and we begin to create a mental equivalent of our mortgage or rent being paid and sure enough on time in ways that we cannot explain we get it done but the consciousness doesn’t change and so thirty days later guess what we get to do again. Did you notice the last month when you had that problem it was a big infinite problem and you had no way out of it and yet it answered itself and now it’s coming around again to this month and you have the same trouble oh because you didn’t shift to solving the problem from the consciousness of wealth, you went to solve the problem from the consciousness of problem. When you solve problem from problem you automatically attract new problem. When you solve challenge with wealth you’re going to attract more wealth. When you begin to live in the wealth of your soul you’re going to attract more wealth. Well what is the wealth of my soul well you get out of your body, you don’t leave your body but you leave your physical reality as the place your trying to contact your soul. What do you mean as an example Kellie is the treasurer and she thinks we should do it this way and I look at the same thing and I think as an example we should do it this way well my ego absolutely wants to be right and Kellie has an ego too and guess what hers wants to be right too and now what do we have? We have two needs to be right colliding with each other and we have no answer so wait a minute Kellie wants the highest and best for us all and I want the highest and best for us all what if we go out to the place where the answer for the highest and best for all exists because we love each other and because were communing with each other and because we believe in the opulence of the living spirit together, what if we go to that place and solve the problem and all of a sudden an answer comes doors open things unfold and things you could never imagine happen why because we moved from the limitation of our body to the wealth of our soul. But my mind doesn’t understand where the wealth is going to come from; your soul doesn’t need to understand it simply allows for it to come. Well I want to withhold my love because they did the wrong thing and your soul says I want to love the hell out of them. Did you hear me I want to love the hell out of them oh which is the only way to get hell out of somebody; you have to love the hell out of them. When there is enough love when you don’t shut down when you don’t leave the wealth of your soul there is always enough and if you quite asking for money you might want to change just as an exercise, don’t ask for money anymore because what is the definitions of insanity,? See everyone knows the definition of insanity intuitively we know it we don’t need a dictionary. Insanity is to do the same thing over and over and expect a different result and so you have been asking God for money, asking the law for money give me money and its not coming and why do you keep doing it the same way. Make a change your soul is immersed in the substance of all life from which all things come. Your soul has the capability of managing your body and the millions of functions of things happening in your body in any given one moment and it’s doing it without even asking you how to do it, it knows how to do, its immersed in that wealth, it’s immersed in that intelligence. So you say soul I want money no soul says you are immersed in the substance of life, I want the substance to use for my intention and you clarify your intention and you say the substance of life is filling my intention and I trust the substance of life to provide for me today. I am trusting the substance of life to reveal to me the ways and shapes and forms through which I may assist in the process and I don’t have to do it I just have to dress up and show up and be the avenue through which it may happen meaning the process is not taking place anywhere except in you and unless your willing to take action for the thing your seeking to create it cannot happen through you. So what does that look like well I’m looking for my new and perfect work ok so I recognize the wealth in my soul and ok I’m, immersed in substance and I need the perfect right work that matches my divine intention to go forward and so you are clear about that you have given that to God and you have done your mental work you are clear and so now what do you do? Well you better put your clothes on because something in the world is going to call you to do it. Well I need a new job and I don’t know what to do and I have groceries to get and there is no one responding to my inquiries and no activity in the field of job what do I do now, oh well what else were you going to do well I’m involved in a charitable project well do that. What do I do now well I have to get my laundry done well do that move in the direction of your own dreams. I have a question for you who are in the industry right now where you can afford the negativity? Is there anybody in a business where you can afford to be a grouch or to put your time in negativity? Is your household so overflowing that you can afford to be griping and filled with negativity? Is your relationship so overflowing that you can afford to be griping and filled with negativity? Have you noticed that there is not enough room in your experience right now to participate in this negativity? So what if negativity is all around you stop participating in it oh move away from that which no longer serves you and move towards that which is serving you. You have to be willing by thought you attract by prayer and consciousness you are a magnet to your own desires. You are calling them forth into your experience by means of your daily practice and if you have no daily practice then you know where to begin. Get the meditation CD what are the practices that we teach we teach prayer and meditation. Well I don’t know how to pray then come to class I don’t know how to meditate then get the CD, see of the self. Begin to start begin the process and begin to pray and meditate and work in mind on your desires and intentions. I am so happy and grateful that and I appreciate that and fill in your own desires, this or something better. Be clear about what you’re giving the universe and then be willing to dress up and show up to what needs to be done. But what is today’s lesson and today’s lesson is stay in your soul, don’t leave your soul. Your soul is immersed in the wealth of the universe it’s immersed in the substance of all things, it can use the substance of all things toward anything why because God has ordained that you’re in it’s image and you are free. You can use it for anything but if you don’t use it it will not work. And if you use it at the level that you have been using it it will work the same way. In order to create a difference result you have to make a change and what is the change in our spirit of home program? We want you to make a commitment and it looks like a commitment outside of yourself to this spiritual center but it’s not it’s a commitment to yourself and to your own idea of God. To the God that is with you every moment, to the wealth that you’re always connected to. That is looking to have it happen through you and unless you are willing to anchor yourself in God unless your willing to come home you will be fleeting around as if you don’t know how to land and you do know how to land you just haven’t bothered to do so. Because it is so much easier to stay in the surface and flit around with your problems until you get to old and too tired to carry them anymore. And I ask you is that really easier is that really going to make things different simply getting older. I do not think so I think what would make things different is your decision to be youthful vibrant and dynamic and alive no matter how old you are. To be clear and focused and to be a soul force for the greater good in all humanity all of the time how because you are in touch with the wealth of your soul and you decided to come home and dwell in the secret place of the most high. The secret place of the most high is you and the divine co-mingled as one and that place is called your soul and it’s already given. You and the divine co-mingled as one that is the wealth of your soul and that is where you are home and I invite you to think on these things and together let us explore the possibilities.
