"Ground of Being"

Today’s lesson is entitled the
ground of being, and I want to talk about this as it was shared with
me wouldn’t it be wonderful if consciousness was rising as fast as
gas prices? I really want to use that as a symbol because you might
notice that the world is freaking out, have you noticed? They are
just freaking out about all kinds of things and so the latest freak
out is now oil and if you look deeper and you start listening to the
experts in the field what they are saying is there is no reason for
this. It is being created out of fear and fear begets more fear and
so something is happening in the ground of our being and what do we
mean by the ground of our being. Let’s look at light as vibration we
say that the highest level of vibration is light and then we say
that light is also a symposium for God or spirit. So this is called
the Spirits works center and could also be called the light work
center because spirit works. Spirit is actually not having a crisis,
spirit is not having an oil crises or any other kind of crises,
humanity out of their freedom is creating the conditions and
circumstances that we need in order to rise up. However much of
humanity in creating the circumstances that we need to break
through, to pop through much of humanity believes that in order to
create those circumstances you need to suffer. And here is where we,
we as a community we as light workers awakening in the world, we
have a whole new possibility and we do not have to participate in
the belief and in the consciousness of suffering. And if you don’t
participate with that and if you notice that if you do not choose to
do that you’re going to have to become more conscious. Because most
people and this is a study that came out this week in psychology
that the average American is watching six hours of television a day.
It also happens that after three hours of watching television you
start to feel bad. No matter what you are watching isn’t that
interesting? So most of us are finding ourselves in a habit of
sitting someplace that originally makes us feel good because we find
it relaxing or discomforting or distracting and when we stay there
too long it automatically makes us feel bad and most of us stay
there anyway.
Well you may have noticed by means of your spiritual practice that
certain ideas in other words why is it that you would come and we
get this often because of the changing of the different rhythms of
different ages and generations certain ages and generations don’t
like the idea of waking up on a Sunday morning to actually go and do
something. So we begin to say well how do we address this fact that
birds of a feather, flock together and we are designed to flock
together. We are designed to flock together because in truth there
is only one of us here, there is only the being that is life itself
seeking to express itself in an ever greater way, in an ever greater
joy. Have you noticed that sometimes when you come here you will
just see somebody who you have just happened to have seen before and
just seeing them makes you feel good? You mean I just show up and I
just saw somebody and seeing them made me feel better, why? Because
that soul knows that there is one life and that life is the life of
God and that life is my life right here and right now and that life
is the life in me and that is the life in you. And automatically by
seeing another bird that knows those same feathers, automatically
just by seeing another bird of the same feather I feel better.
So lets look into this because what I am here today to do is to talk
to you about things that you already know but to invite you to crank
it up another notch because when you crank it up another notch you
can step out of the suffering that everybody’s else’s is engaging
in.
Now I have a speculation and this is my speculation that as you show
up in your office, your place of work, your place of creativity,
your place of productivity and you see other people and the other
people have sat six hours in front of the television set and
therefore three of those hours were feeling bad and the last three
hours were watching the eleven o’clock news which reminded you of
all of the insanities in the world and so you went to sleep feeling
bad for three hours no matter what you were watching because you
were there three hours to many right? Then you took in some
information about suffering in the world and then you slept on it.
All people are divine yes? So we know ours is to love each other, to
forgive each other and to seek joy in our creative expression
together and we sometimes call that a picnic. Ours is to love each
other, to seek joy in our creative expression together and so you
are vibrating at a different level because maybe you had the sense
of you know what this television is not fulfilling me anymore and
I’m going to do something else. I think I will put on some music I
think I will read a poet, I think I will look at a book, I think I
will talk to a friend, I think I will enter into some social network
which is now available in your computer in every which way shape and
form right? Because it is all moving so fast that I can find another
way to spend my time. Now I show up at the office and I notice that
people all around me suffering and suffering deeply at what Henry
David Thoreau called most people are walking around in quiet
desperation and you might notice that while you aware of your own
fears yes, but you’re not dwelling in them.
There was a great story by Patricia Turnbolt and she was one of
Ernest Holmes original practitioners. A practitioner was an idea
that was born from the Christian Science Church came into new
thought because we recognize that thought doesn’t care who has it,
and so if your having trouble getting a new thought or getting a
clear thought about who and what you are really in your divinity we
know that somebody else can hold that awareness for you until you
catch up. Then eventually a practitioner’s job is to give you the
freedom to discover the divinity is already in you and in fact I am
that divinity. Everyone say I am divining therefore I am divine
love. I am divine light; my whole life is the “is-ness business”.
Isn’t your whole life the is-ness business, isn’t your whole life
about the being of who you are and we get distracted and we think
our whole life is about human doing, not its not its about human
being. So I noticed that I’m not suffering the same way as everybody
else well I have some news for you, that’s because the good feathers
around you are helping to raise you up, there helping to hold that
space. And so you might discover because you have been coming to the
spirit Works Center because you are participating and so say as soon
as I get into that one word ‘community”. Oh that word is asking
something from me isn’t it? Doesn’t community ask something from
you, it says community and it is getting real close asking for the
other “c” word, commitment. But here is what I come to remind you of
today. You have the full authority to take all of the circumstances
and situations of your life and to allow them to come into order to
reveal your life as a glory moving into greater glory. And here is
the tuff news you cannot do that alone. Because energy is moving
forward, because the ground of being is rising and here to four the
ground of being the sleeping humanity, was asleep and somewhere out
of that grounded being a saint a sage a mystic an avatar, popped out
yes? They pop out in their time, Martin Luther in his time, Martin
Luther King in our time. Nelson Mandela in our time, Jesus of
Nazareth in his time the Buddha in his time, Moses in his time, and
Florence nightingale in her time the souls rise up and the pop out
and they begin to carry something and all of a sudden the ground of
being rises and it rises high enough where it says ok now someone
pop up and show us the new way. Somebody pop up and show us the new
way and the universe says no, no, plain ran out of avatars why
because the whole field is rising and the whole field now needs to
pop up. So the divinity of the Christ the divinity of the Atman, the
divinity of the Buddha is showing up in me, the divinity of the
Christ the divinity of the atman the divinity of the Buddha is
showing up as you and when that divinity meets itself and finds
itself there is a whole new explosion of being-ness. The ground of
being rises up but it is not the whole ground because if you look at
the people watching six hours of television, the ground is staying
low but as we pull ourselves out, as we as a group say I’m going to
practice my divinity, I’m going to remember who I am as a spiritual
being. I am going to claim the I AM that I AM as the authority in
the cosmos and I’m going to let the cosmos reveal itself to me and
through me but not for me for all of the birds that flock with me
and is there any limit to the amount of birds that can vibrate at a
higher level and flock together in a higher land? No limit, no limit
at all it is right there but if enlightenment is going to happen it
is up to us. If you’re going to find that you are not suffering,
you’re capable of it. Have you not noticed that when you go to sleep
for just a little bit those fears thoughts get all kinds of power
don’t we? What are we going to do when gas gets a thousand dollars a
gallon? The answer is find a better idea is what were going to do,
were going to find a better idea and all this fear that were not
going to find a better idea is simple not true. There is always a
better idea, there is a better way to do it, there is a better way
and it will come upon us when we decide to change our mind. People
can just into that suffering and create all the suffering they want
but I have news for you there is a better way. There is a better way
but it going to require that I do not fall prey to my limited
thoughts, to my smaller thoughts and come into a higher level So
here we go this I know you already know but I will remind you.
Eleanor Wilcox’s the poet once ship drives East another drives West
with the self same winds that blow. Tis the set of the sails and not
the Gails which tells which way they go. Like the waves of the sea
are the waves of fate as we voyage along through life. Tis the set
of the soul which decides it goal and not the calm or the stride. It
is the set of the soul that sets the goal. Where are you placing
your eternal life, the life that you really are. Are you placing
into the realm of suffering and fear and doubt and flocking with the
suffering doubters? And if you choose to suffer and flock with the
suffering doubters there is plenty of room in the inn, plenty of
room and you can do that for as long as you like. And here is some
truth and again that you already know but do you know that this edge
of commitment that you sit on this edge of what would happen if I
really dive into my spiritual life. What would happen if I really
make these teachings mine, what would happen if I really look and
say what is it I believe about life and do I have the power, let me
remind you you are the product of your heredity, your environment,
your physical body, your conscious and sub consciousness mind
experience, your particular position and direction in time and space
and something more including powers know. You have the powers to
affect use control or harmonize all of them You are the sum total of
your heredity, your environment, your physical body, your
consciousness, your sub conscious mind, your particular position and
direction in time and space and something more including powers
known and unknown, you have the power to affect use, control or
harmonize with all of them and you can direct your thoughts and you
can control your emotions and you can ordain your destiny That is
the power that lives in you to synchronize all of that and the power
that synchronizes all of that is whatever you do with your own I AM.
Am I love, am I joy am I wisdom, am I infinite good am I infinite
potential am I the matured self from which all things can emerge am
I the word and the law itself. Ernest Holmes the great metaphysician
from the last century he says creation is the manifestation of
invisible intelligence and power and law. It is the creator clothed
in definite form.
Everyone say I AM, I am the creator clothed in definite form. You
are that but unless you know yourself as that creator your going to
put your attention where you don’t want it instead of where you do
want it and when you put your attention where you don’t want it, you
will get more of what you don’t want. Let me say that one again when
you put your attention where you don’t want it you will get more of
what you don’t want. Now flip it around and put your attention on
what you do want and what you do mean and will begin to create that.
So here is the story that I started to tell about Patricia Turnbolt
who was this practitioner who learned and back in the old days the
seventies and I went to the Beverly Hills Science of Mind center and
Bill Heart was the minister there and I was on the board and that is
part of how I got here and one day it was very hot and in the old
building the AC did not work very well and it was one of the one
hundred and five days and so were all in the lobby all dressed in
our Sunday stuff and here comes the ninety some Patricia Turnbolt in
the building and I said it is great to see you and I said wow it
sure is hot isn’t? And she looked at me she said I am aware of the
heat I choose not to dwell on it. So the next time you go to the gas
pump you tell yourself I am aware of the price of gas I choose not
to dwell on it. Do you see it because if you dwell on it you can
make yourself feel as bad as you want to? I have the power by
synchronizing my thought by choosing where I will live with my
thought now we know that thoughts do not create the world, thoughts
open up the door that creates the world because thinking something
will not make it so. Have you noticed? But believing something,
feeling something moving inside of something will make it so and so
we have the opportunity to begin our very life our very day of days
and people say well I don’t meditate in the morning and I personally
look at that and say well then how then do you know, how do you have
any idea what is being spilled out in front of your day and what
were you watching before you went to sleep last night because that
is libel to be the continuation of what is happening this morning.
If you do not consciously get in the game and consciously know who
you are and consciously claim what is the truth of your own being.
Now wait a minute is there love in the world, is there joy in the
world, is there wealth in the world, is there opulence in the world,
is there creativity in the world, and is there love in the world? Oh
if all of those things exist in the world are you in the world? Then
what separates you from those things, what separates you from all of
those things you would choose to have? And the answer is where are
you living because where you are living will determine the life that
is coming to you. Where you are living will determine the life that
is coming to you and where are you living? Are you allowing yourself
to see the faces that you know and love are you allowing yourself to
get touched by the fact that someone makes you feel good. Wait time
out someone makes you feel good, what did they do to make you feel
good? The answer is absolutely nothing they did nothing I just saw
them and I felt better, isn’t that fantastic? You mean you don’t
have to do something in order to be whole no because what you are
being will turn into what you are doing. Isn’t it true that what you
are being will turn into what you are doing so it comes back to the
same question, where are you living, where are you putting your
attention? Where am I living now and where am I putting my
attention. Truth will make you feel good, when you see somebody
whose presence makes you feel good it’s simply the truth. Truth
makes you feel good. Note to self truth makes me feel good, it might
be a good idea to look around for things that are true. So when you
start looking at things that make you feel bad look deeper. The
energy crisis makes me feel bad, energy how much energy is in the
universe and doesn’t every part of your soul tell you there is
infinite energy in the universe. Hello my beloved human families
were making this up. We have to make the choice to become the avenue
through which the life of life is being lit. We have to become the
place through which we shift things around. We have to come to the
place through which faith it is said to us in the bible, faith is
the substance of things hoped for, not the might be of things hoped
for but the substance of things hoped for. Ok here is the biblical
line Jesus said is chapter and verse in Mathew twenty one twenty one
Jesus says to them truly I say unto you if you have faith and never
doubt you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree on
another point he looked at the fig tree and said give me fruit and
it gave him fruit and so he has a choice which way he is going to
behave with the fig tree. But if you say unto the mountain take it
up and cast unto the sea, if you say unto the mountain be taken up
and be cast unto the sea it will be done. And whatever you ask in
prayer you will receive if you have faith. So here is the truth, no
matter what is going on in the world and here is the simple truth
that I want to get to today. I know many of us are at the place
where were almost willing to make a commitment to our spiritual life
The challenge is if I make a commitment to my spiritual life I
cannot do it alone that literally means in the new era I have to
make a commitment to a flock. Check this out nothing I say is true
unless you see it as true in your world but in order for the third
appearance which is all of us to become the Christ the Atman the
Buddha. In order for that to happen I cannot do it alone because the
Christ in me will stimulate the Buddha in you, the Christ and Buddha
together will stimulate a whole new good and a greater glory than
you have ever known before, we do not know nor has it ever been in
the human condition an awakened world the Christ meeting the Christ
the Buddha meeting the Buddha, the Nashama meeting the Buddha and
watching it all come together to reveal a glory that has never yet
been known except in the minds and the hearts of these individuals
Saints, Sages, Mystics, Masters and Prophets. But we want to go to
the cosmic awakening together, we want to be in the cosmic awakening
and see it together. So here is the truth knowing who we are
connecting to our higher selves and connecting more strongly to
source are always the things to hold on to. Let me say it again
knowing who we are by connecting to our higher selves and connecting
more strongly to source these are always the thing, no matter what’s
going on in the world that will give us strength Forgetting those
things which are behind and reaching forth to those things which are
before is the way to move, not what do I want my name but where am I
living and how am I living there. Because the ground of being is
rising up and when you decide I am willing, I am not only willing
but longing to looking forward to being with my soul group, my birds
of a feather, the ones who flock with me who see the glory as my
eyes are open to it, there eyes are open to it and we are seeing it,
feeling it, expressing it, experiencing it together and that
connectedness to that field of vibration is causing us to rise up.
So here we go unless we as individuals stay on our own edge we will
not continue to develop Unless we start to live inside the I AM that
I AM we will not continue to develop? And when we push to the edge
together something begins to happen a vibration a leaning forward
that the something starts to explode at the level of consciousness
itself. A whole different energy, whatever my job is today I am
already free and it is I that is bringing the freedom to the role
not the role that is going to give me freedom. This is why you are
noticing your suffering is not as great as it use to be your
choosing a new place because a whole different energy starts working
in and through the individual and the collective starts working in
me and in you and in us which starts to up lift everyone present and
our simple engagement together becomes the vehicle through which we
continually move into deeper and higher territory. Our simple
engagement together so when you are contemplating shall I drive to
the spirit Works center, shall I get up and go, is there something
there during the week, during the day whatever it is, is there
something calling me to go there and something within you say yes
don’t turn back to the TV, don’t turn back to that which numbs you
and causes you to be less awake but turn towards that which does
cause you to be more awake. Turn towards that which is the truth
that makes you feel good, put your attention on the truth that makes
you feel good and indeed come into the affirmation and I will say it
in the first person and I want to be very very clear about it. I am
Harry Morgan Moses and I want to feel good. Everyone say I AM I
choose to feel good and if you choose that then I highly recommend
you set the sails, you turn the utter, you move everything in the
direction of that which makes you feel good. Because you will
discover that as you feel better you are claiming your entitlement.
You are claiming your entitlement and you are entitled to miracles.
I am entitled to miracles and since it has already been given the
changing of that faith the advancing forward of my own consciousness
is an inside job and it’s going to happen in accord with my yes. The
changing of faith and consciousness is an inside job and it’s going
to happen exactly in accord with your yes. So I know your presence
here today is an action that says yes to your yes and I expect by
means of your presence here today a greater good to come into your
life. I expect it and I know you are coming forth to share with your
own flock the greater good of your life That’s what were doing here
the ground of being is rising and I say let us together collectively
say “yes”.

invite you to think on these things and together let us explore the
possibilities.
