COSMIC SWEEP OF LOVE

When we step into an agreement of the group all of a sudden the collective consciousness rises up to make a field of awareness possible for us that is not possible unless we are together. This is our opportunity to begin to recognize that the I AM within me which is that awakening, which is the only begotten, forever begetting itself in each of us and has a potential to reveal the glory that some of us have just had the opportunity to touch in our lives. Others of us know that its there and we are in the process of culling our psycho emotional self that we may rise up and know in truth who we really are.
Let me give you some context for today’s lesson called the cosmic sweep of love I believe and for those of you who were here when we began the work here at New Thought Ministries of Oregon we began teaching a class called the third appearance by Walter Starcke and that book was about what Mathew Fox the great former Benedictine Monk who is living in San Rafael California now with an institute and continues to teach about the coming of the cosmic Christ. I heard a wonderful story about him and he was of course excommunicated from the church and so he was silenced for a year and when he appeared on the platform a year later his opening line was “as I was saying”. That there is something emerging within all of us which is rising to a collective place in consciousness that I truly believe is part of what has been called the new age, which might be called the age of consciousness We are in that age and we are rapidly anchoring it in critical mass and of course once we hit that critical mass that one hundredth monkey we will watch rapidly the human condition change.
I had awareness a couple of weeks ago as I was watching the evening news. I was born in what’s called the baby boomer generation and as I was watching the news it dawned on me that the baby boomers were families that were formed after World War two which was suppose to be the war to end all wars and I am fifty sum years old now and it dawned on me that my nation, one nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all my nation has been at war for the vast majority of my life and something has to change and we know, you and I know that the change will come from an awakening consciousness, from a new awareness. For it is only as we really begin to see that it’s a shift in our awareness that causes a shift in our experience, that we can bring that into the collective. So I believe this age of consciousness is that we are at the edge of is going to happen in a new way that we have really seem through out the human history, we have seen the advancement or the bringing forth by means of the saints, the sages, the mystics the masters and the prophets, we have seen all that can be seen by the bringing of any one soul and there is a new awareness that is happening in the collective consciousness, what Walter Starke calls the third appearance. The idea being that Christ came once in body, resurrected the second time in body and the third appearance of the cosmic Christ is the awakening of that presence in each of us. That capacity to work miracles and draw forth the inner kingdoms of peace and joy and that’s our opportunity.
It has been stated in more than one way the Buddhist teacher, living teacher Thich Nhat Hanh wrote this very interesting quote and it says it is possible that the next Buddha will not take the form of an individual, the next Buddha may take the form of a community, a practicing community understanding love and kindness, a community practicing mindful living and the practice can be carried out as a group, as a city, as a nation for a future to be possible our Enlightment must be collective For a future to be possible our Enlightment must be collective. That any good that I would receive for myself, any awareness that would cause me to move into a deeper level of splendor is not an awareness that I would keep for myself but rather one that I would seek to share in the minds and hearts of all those who are around me. That we are all part of a vibrational field and we understand the law of that vibrational field is pretty simple, birds of a feather, flock together We understand that it is a principal vibration attracts like vibration and so we were at a place in the awareness in the unfolding of new thought. New thought is simply a set of principals, the United Centers for Spiritual Living of which I am now a member, the church that I preside in at Burbank, the spirit works center in Burbank is also a part of that same group and that group came out of the Church of Religious Science for its first eighty years called the United Church of Religious Science. And the reason that they changed the name is because we realized that there is a gap in understanding between science and the ideas of religion and if you look at the book by Ernest Holmes, the book called the Science of Mind the opening chapter of that book, the opening paragraph of that book is we all look forward to the day when science and religion walk hand in hand from the visible to the invisible. We all look forward to the day when science and religion walk together demonstrating the same principle and we are in that day and yet the common understanding of these ideas still sees a gap. Still is stuck on ideas that would separate on ideas that would cause us not to come together and so there is something happening within the philosophy the teaching of new thought and new thought really has four basic ideas and many of you have heard me share those ideas before but just for reference I’ll repeat them. The first idea in new thought is God is all there is there is only one power, one life in and through and as all creation and beyond all creation. There is nothing outside of the one there is only one. And if there is only one the second principal follows, if there is only one and I AM then I must be what that one is and that one must be what I AM. And those two principals constitute what I would call the light workers. All the souls that are aware that there is one life, one power, one presence, that we cannot be separated by race, color, creed preference ways of being or even ways of understanding that we all belong to the same, that we are all one. Those people who are aware of that at whatever level there aware those people constitute the awakening world, they constitute the light workers in the world. And what we could not say was New Thought was holding all the light workers, we wouldn’t even begin to say that we would say there are light workers among every tradition. There are light workers from everything from the agnostic to the atheist, to the most devoted in any tradition there are light workers, for it takes only two things to become a light worker, one to know God is all there is and second to know I am that and of course the third thing is to recognize that since I am that and its origin is light the light is one, then I must then be a light worker. Everybody touch themselves and say I AM, I am a light worker and there are light workers all over the planet and their is a universal coordinating intelligence that will pull all of these apparent separate conscious into this new appearance, into the awareness, into the Enlightment that must be collective and we often talk about an infinite God, and an infinite intelligence and then of course we try to tell it how to do it. And what if there really were a universal coordinating intelligence that know exactly what to do and how to do it and is doing it now and is doing it in me now. And what if I surrendered to that great truth wouldn’t I find just as the ancient Moses found underneath there are the underlying arms, wouldn’t I find that I could surrender all of my fears and doubts and all of my quest for survival to discover indeed that underneath there are the underlying arms. And I believe that there is this universal coordinating intelligence and I believe it is acting in us now and I believe it is acting in the light workers in this new age, in this age of consciousness in the upward forward progressive spiral of life and we would call that evolution, the upward forward progressive spiral of life, in the upward forward spiral of life we are rising up and as we are rising up there is a new wind blowing. There is a new energy coming forth well this energy or this wind you may say this is a new energy although not really because we would say we would say the emanation is from God is in God, it is a download of the field of intelligence coming to itself for humanity is one with God and as we rise up in our awareness we find that all of a sudden we can be coordinated, we can be caught by this cosmic sweep of love and it can do extraordinary things in our life And one of the things that have accelerated just in the last several months that has accelerated the coming of this cosmic sweep or the opening to this cosmic sweep and again we wouldn’t not say that God, God very high most God, the one God all of a sudden decided to love its creation as humanity. It didn’t all of a sudden decide to love its creation in a new way, it’s creation has always been loved and you remember two thousand years ago when the great saint the Avatar the way shower Jesus from Nazareth, Joshua and then Joseph he said in his last moments forgive them they know not what they do. Forgive them because you God who have seen them as the beloved, you God who has known them as your only child, you god who has known them as the great love and the power and the providence and the grace and the magnificence of creation they are that, they have just forgotten they have not risen up to their highest self. And now we are rising because there are more light workers on the planet than there have ever been before. There are more people calling on the debts of infinite compassion that each one of us have’s, forgive us for we knew not what we were doing.
Is there anybody in the world other than of course me who has any false creations? We have all mis-created forgive us we knew not what we were doing and we have the opportunity now to rise up and to say well how could we know what we are doing me in my small self, me in my lower vibrations I know not what I’m doing. My in my lower vibrations I participate with my fears and doubts and worries and struggles, or is it just me? And sometimes those fears and doubts and worries and struggles they get our attention yes and the more we go into the struggles, you see the challenge with the great discovery of this law and that is the third principle, first principle is God is all there is, second principle is I AM that and the third principle is there is this law this law of co creation this law of Karma, this law of mind, this law of the original primordial field as our friend Deepak chopra would call it, this quantum reality which is always receiving the impress of our consciousness and acting upon it. This law of co creation exists, that’s the third principle and the fourth principle is all things are evolving. All things are being guided by this upward forward progressive sweep of love although we are born in the image and likeness of God and so are being swept by the cosmic sweep is going to require our willingness. It’s going to require our “yes” because the emanation has always been there and it is like a ship, a mast a sailboat it’s in the wind but it has no sails up and the wind goes through it and it cannot move to its place of destination. Not because the ship is not capable, not because the rudder will not steer it but because we have not lifted up our sails to catch the wind. The wind has always been there the cosmic sweep has always been there but as this critical mass of consciousness is rising up, there’s a new opportunity for us to receive this down load of information that will transform us. But we don’t like that one yes well you know I want to be transformed but I just don’t want to change that’s all. It will require that we say yes and so I have some good news and I have some bad news. Some of you might have noticed in your life that change is happening rapidly and you might notice that it is so interesting that we have done all of this discovery about the laws of nature and the one thing that we find for sure is the only thing constant in the universe is change and the only thing that we resist with all our being is change. But the change is coming and it’s coming ever more rapidly because some of us are dawning that this idea of staying in war is not going to work. This idea of my good forsaking somebody else’s good is not going to work. That there must be a universal coordinating principle that leaves no one out and includes all and finds the way through which we can cooperate with it and therefore bring forth a greater possibility for good. And when will we adjust to the climate changes, and when will we find our part is only when we rise up and allow this universal coordinating intelligence because of our critical mass to say yes that we will recognize the unity of all life and we will begin to work with the principles that will harmonize all life, to create a good a world that works for all. And that is the vision statement of the United Centers for Spiritual Living. That we can find a way to reveal a world that works for all and I believe in that age and I believe in that time and so here we are in that time and something has happened as we said for years and years you know we in new thought we have the greatest secret for all man kind and we couldn’t see to get it out there in the world and all of a sudden we named the movie the secret and all of a sudden the cat is out of the bag. And in that movie the secret they talk about the law of attraction, the law of attraction is another name for that same law, the law of Karma, the law of mind, the law of co creation, same law the unified field, the quantum field, the same principle the law of attraction is just a name for the same exact principle that responds to us by corresponding to us and the wonderful young women in that movie says all you have to do is place your order to the universe, just place your order and expect your good. How are you doing? Because those of us who know, those of us who have been working in this field, you see they don’t tell you about the spiritual life is in order to rise up into the spiritual life you have to be willing to let go of all those things that you hold onto. All your reasons why, all your fears, all your doubts, all your worries and so oh I would rise up but, I would contribute more but but the day the moment comes that I get mine, I swear I’m going to share it, but I’m just not there yet. And we argue for our limitations, Richard Baku the great author of the book the great illusions and Jonathan Living Seagull he says argue for your limitations and there yours. So argue for our limitations and we vibrate low and when we vibrate low we cannot catch the cosmic sweep, we cannot allow the greater good to come to us and so all of a sudden this thing is called the law of attraction and the law of attraction does not respond to our thoughts and yes in the dawning of new thought all those years ago when we said thoughts are things, thoughts are things and in my book I wrote in 1997 I said thoughts are not really things there are the cause of things, they are related for sure but we know its not just our thoughts and the sum total of our consciousness is going to create our experience. The sum totals of everything that we think, say, do and feel so all of a sudden we begin well oh feeling is important and feeling good is important and rising our vibrations and supporting one another in feeling good is good. You know the truth makes you feel good, when you hear the truth when you participate in the truth, it makes you feel good so when we are talking about feeling good we are not talking about surface feel good, were not talking about temporal feel good, we talking about the awakening of your cosmic self to the feeling of knowing who and what you are in the mind of God. And we all have that capacity, we have the capacity to share that love, to enter into that experience so just as though you had a hat, open your crown chakra now, open the crown chakra where the light will enter in, open it let it come in, let it come through all the centers, down your spine, open your heart and see yourself as one with the one, open yourself to that energy and now look in somebody’s eyes right now and really look at them and say I see you. And all of a sudden you see in that seeing you are a light you are bringing light, you are calling, we are calling forth the support we are lifting something up and we see as Thich Nhat Hanh says it is going to happen in the collective. For if I be lifted up all will be drawn unto me and we say oh no I don’t need a group, I don’t need to be in a collective and the last thing I want to do is join something. Why because we are afraid because I don’t want to get swallowed up in the light, I want to be my own light. Well wait a minute have you ever seen candle light argue with another candle light. No light knows itself and comes together as one however you know what they call light houses, you know how they measure the power of light they call it candle power. How much candle power does the light house have? Well we know the more candles we have the more light we have. John Anderson was a singer in a group called “Yes” he wrote a beautiful lyric in one of his songs, he says anyone can light a candle but not the way that you do. Anyone can light a candle but not the way that you do so you’re bringing the light is very important. Who is the most spiritual, the most awakened, the most powerful soul in this room, who is the one whose contribution to the awakening of the kingdom in earth as it is in heaven, who is that one, everybody touch themselves and say I AM. I am the way the light and the truth for only as I wake up to who and what I am can I possible carry the light and only as I bring that light and I’m totally willing to share it completely and totally can that light be unconditioned and always bringing its light into the darkness. We have the power to rise up you and I and we have the capacity so something has happened in our world and in our time recently. The secret has gone out and Ellen DeGeneres got a hold of it and Larry King got a hold of it and Oprah got a hold of it and the secret is now out and everybody’s says place your order in the universe and what they don’t tell you is you know what all you souls who didn’t know about the one law that belongs to all people your going to start placing your order and your going to expand your consciousness to realize there are universal laws that belong to all people and your life will never be the same. Oliver Wendell Holmes the great jurist said the mind once expanded never returns to its original dimension and I would say this you cannot UN-know. Once you know there is no going back, so this nucleus is changing because awareness is going to change and they are talking about the law of attraction but you see what they talk about in the law of attraction is as though there was some force outside of yourself and you place an order outside of yourself and it will come back and feed you something But that is not how it is, you see the gift has already been given, the miracle already exists. I am that miracle, the I AM that I AM, touch yourselves, the I AM that I AM is already the miracle, it’s already there and what will come to you as you start to use, as you vibrate up into the cosmic force in the cosmic sweep and allow it to download its information to carry you is that the good is not going to be coming outside of you, all of a sudden your good is becoming to you because we already know if its going to you, it must happen through you. Well then how do I use this law of attraction?
The answer is you become outrageously attractive and I was fine being the Christ or the Atman and the Buddha but outrageously attractive that’s a whole other thing. My wife is doing real estate now so she is busy on Sunday’s and so she doesn’t get to hang out with me on Sunday’s and do the group thing and so she gets home later in the day and so I meet her home later in the day and so I’m driving home after having a wonderful time with my group and we are waking up in consciousness, were having a good time and I am minding my own business and there is a traffic accident. Traffic is moving very slow, so I have the radio on and they call the stations soft rock and I’m taking an extra five minutes because I want you to have the cosmic sweep, I want you to know you are the most important part of this awakening world, who and what you are is a gift from God and I want you to know you have the power to change the atmosphere where ever you go. I want you to be able to practice that, not for me but for you that your life will be lifted up, for if you be lifted up all shall be drawn unto you and if we are lifted up all shall be drawn unto us. So I’m driving home and I have the radio on and myself says to myself love is the most attractive force, so naturally I said yes I know and I drive another five minutes and myself says to myself love is the most attractive force and I said yes, I know and I’m not going very far maybe a quarter of a mile and myself says to myself, do you remember and I went oh wow, I couldn’t remember and it just told me twice that I already know that and thank you for sharing and I couldn’t remember and so I grabbed a piece of paper and I said it was love is the most attractive force and I said right? I’m alone in my car and it says the cosmic sweep of love is the most attractive force and I said the cosmic sweep of love is the most attractive force in the cosmos and it says no, I said the cosmic sweep of love is the most attractive force and it says no and I said the cosmic sweep of love is the most attractive force in the universe and what has happened in this critical mass, this new awareness about the law of attraction has gone out. What is the law that they talk about in that movie, the law of attraction meaning I am the one who is going to attract through me all of that good and how are you going to attract if you continue to vibrate at the same level? The equivalent of vibrating at this level is this level, so if all of a sudden you want to start attracting your going to have to change vibrations and how do I change vibrations? The cosmic sweep of love is the most attractive force in the universe well if the cosmic sweep of love is the most attractive force in the universe meaning my world well then I must be one with the cosmic sweep of love yes? Everyone touch themselves and say the cosmic sweep of love is the most attractive force in the universe, I am attractive and do you realize if you are one with the cosmic force you are the most attractive thing in the universe and that’s what God is asking us to become. Are you willing to let go of your problems because the way to overcome the problems is come over them and to rise above them and we are now being asked rise first, don’t wait to rise, don’t solve your problems before you rise, don’t get it fixed before you rise, rise and allow yourself to become this attractive force by coming over, I shall overcome and everything unlike the truth will be dissolved and all will be left in the field is the God that I am as the most attractive force in the universe.
And so today in a new way I’m asking you are you willing to let go of the old, are you willing to let go of all the reasons you can’t and become an outrageously attractive force, on behalf of the light, in the light, for the light and with the light and in the cosmic sweep of love there is joy and bliss and glory beyond your highest imagination and God is only asking for one thing, rise up and become my light in the world. My friends to be among the light workers you in this day is my great honor and privilege and I invite you to think on these things and together let us explore the possibilities........................
