“Center Experience”

Peace be unto thee, stranger, enter and be not afraid
I have left the gate open and thou art welcome to my home.
There is room in my house for all.
I have swept the hearth and lighted the fire.
The room is warm and cheerful and you will find comfort and rest
within.
The table is laid and the fruits of life are spread before thee.
The wine is here also, it sparkles in the light.
I have set a chair for you where the sunbeams dance through the
shade.
Sit and rest and refresh your soul.
Eat of the fruit and drink the wine.
All, all is yours, and you are welcome.
All, all is yours and you are welcome the opening
of the spirit of home program it says love is without boundaries and
we have a home within its embrace. So you and I are in the process
of discovering and I was speaking to a young man the other day and
he said it is really interesting because I don’t see all that
engaged in the world because I know that I’m already home in spirit
and that really everything that is going on is a reflection of a
deeper level of myself and I said yes and ours is to bring that
wholeness, that home in spirit is to bring it into the world and the
world is an interesting place to practice, have you noticed? That we
understand that the wholeness of God, the wholeness of God is
everywhere present and I’m born in the image and likeness of that
wholeness and then we say ok now bring that forth into the world.
And the world in its appearance moving from the wholeness into the
objective and subjective reality. So today’s talk is entitled the
Center Experience so there are two aspects of the center experience
that I would us to explore.
The first aspect is the discovering that discovering the place of
wholeness. Did anyone have any restlessness with the wind last
night? I noticed it and it is not unusual for me to have
restlessness on Saturday nights but I notice it was challenging
because of the movement of all of the wind which in the objective
world moves ions around and kicks things up and it has an effect.
Have you notice that the environment can affect you? That the world
that were in affects us that we have this wholeness that is the
truth of our nature and yet the world which appears as a subjective
reality meaning that which is the invisible side of my life and that
which is the objective side of my life. So the wholeness moves into
what we call the infinite symbol. So everyone that is willing take
your hands and make a circle and that is who you are and now you
come into form and now make the figure eight. Now go back and forth
a couple of times as you make the figure eight and when you get to
the center stop. Do you feel it that center place. There is a place
within all of this motion that is a place of stillness, a place of
knowing. This is what the monks talk about.
I had an interesting experience a few weeks ago and there were
thirty new thought ministers gathered and there is a project called
common compassion going out in the world and what the project is
they have taken random event generators which are simple little
black boxes that throw out zero’s and ones randomly and so if we
were to take a quarter and flip it one hundred times we are going to
get a variation on 50/50 its random how many heads and over one
hundred times they get real close to 50% in that deal. So these
random event generators are throwing out zeros and ones. Now the
interesting thing is these random event generators have no
receivers, is this making sense? It is not like a radio where it is
receiving a signal and putting it out. All it does is to put out a
signal. It randomly selects zeros and one’s and puts out these
numbers. What this group called common compassion is doing is
placing these random event generators around the world and they are
tracking them in relationship to large group meditations and they
are watching effects in society. So the most famous recently done by
the same group was in Washington DC, there was a group of prayers
coming into form a peace meditation over a period of thirty days and
they wanted to track the results in Washington DC. So they spoke the
police chief who said do you really think a group of peace makers
are going to affect the crime wave here in Washington DC and they
said yes we do and the police chief said I don’t believe that at
all. They said back to him what would be the way that you could
actually measure and he said in the summer time crime rate went down
at a significant rate, that would be significant because the
static’s tell us the crime rate goes up every summer in Washington
DC. So they did this work and measured it in the summer time and
they did thirty days and there was an 18% drop in the crime rate in
Washington DC based on all of these people praying around.
So flash forward now I am in this group a couple of weeks ago and
the guy brings in a random event generator and they are doing this
experience at the Institute of Noetic Science and a lot of folks
have been doing this study that can consciousness affect events Now
we know enough about the science that this is so now there are
experimenting with spiritual minded people who enter into prayer and
meditation. Who come into that center point and the monks in the
Tibetan Buddhist tradition they call that dropping in. There is a
place in our meditation where we drop into that center point, to
that place of stillness in the midst of all of the motion; there is
this place of stillness. So what they want to do is put these random
event generators in new thought churches all across the country to
see what we are doing as a group of souls. So as we gathered we did
a mini experiment to see if we could affect the random event
generator by practicing different events together, doing different
kinds of meditation and different experiences and there is just
unquestionable a trend in every time the group sinks into a
synchronicity the random event generator gets affected and it goes
outside of the norm of the probabilities.
So what we know is each one of us has a consciousness that affects
our experience. So now do you need anybody else in the world to have
a consciousness that effects experience? Do you need to gather in a
community, do you need to have a spiritual home, do you need to have
a guru, do you need to have a teacher, and do you need to do that in
order to have your consciousness affect your experience? Most people
are saying that you do not need anybody and this is true so then why
do we gather in community and what is the value of community?
I had the opportunity to sit on the beach with Terri Cole Whittaker
and sit with her for a couple of hours and I love to do that because
Terri vibrates pretty high. She does not always speak English but
she vibrates pretty high and she says to me is what people don’t
understand is that the reason for spiritual community is not so that
you will be more whole, complete and perfect than you already are
You are already whole complete and perfect but have you noticed that
the world pulls on you, that you have trouble manifesting at every
level of your life, that whole complete and perfect nature? So what
we see is this world and once we go from the one and into the
expression of subjective and objective sometimes the objective side
of our nature gets our attention. The 3-D world calls us in, the
winds blow and we have trouble centering. The fires start and we
have trouble anchoring ourselves, were not exactly sure how in the
world to always maintaining that center. Well that is what the
center point is about. There are two aspects of the center point one
is that each of us has that center point that place where we can
drop in and really know in our oneness that we are one with the one.
So that is a center point and then in the objective world there is
another center point and that’s the place where you can practice
living from that center point in the objective world. And as you
have noticed in your day to day life there not always supporting you
in doing that. You have noticed that it is not always appropriate to
meditate in certain situations, it is not always appropriate to
pause and do a prayer in certain situations, that we have to somehow
find our way in the consciousness of the world to hold that center
point even while the objective challenges of our lives health and
wealth and purpose, those areas of our lives challenge us to stay in
that center point. So the purpose in spiritual community is not so
much that your going to find the power that you don’t already have,
what’s going to happen in spiritual community is you will have an
opportunity to practice that center point in the objective world. To
practice what it would be like and this is what we are calling
ourselves to do as a community and in fact anytime that we come into
the consciousness of the building, how are you feeling about the
consciousness of the building, have you noticed that when you walk
in it starts to feel good here? So we are creating an emanation a
thought atmosphere that is literally beginning to vibrate out to
affect the walls and what we also know is if I had a random event
generator it would affect that also. It would change the zeros and
one’s because our intentionality comes together Never loosing
anything by coming together but being stronger by coming together By
being able to strengthen my spiritual awareness in the world by
practice.
So here is the challenge for you and me so what is the teaching?
Well the teaching doesn’t change, we talk about the teaching from
all different angles because if I just came here and told you God is
all there is and you are one with god, God responds by corresponding
you feel better now? Because this is it that is the whole lesson,
God is all there is, God is with and for itself, God loves itself,
God gives to itself God responds by corresponding to you, to your
consciousness, that’s the message but if you didn’t have to practice
that in the objective world in order to find yourself living from
that center point. If you didn’t have to practice there would be no
purpose in incarnation. So I have surrounded myself in light so I
can avoid the sound of crunching metal So we have the truth but we
have to keep with the truth, we have to practice the truth and this
is what Terri and I were talking about. People are unwilling to
realize awakening simply moving your consciousness to the point
where you realize your one with the one is a gigantic step to be, to
be in a building in a community that says all are one, everyone’s
reflection of the one. Everyone is the Christ awakening, everyone is
the Buddha coming into their compassionate heart but not everyone
knows, have you noticed? So here in our community we are saying
there is a center point and there is a point to the center. There is
a point of this center because the point of the center is to take
our highest ideals, our highest values and practice them, with one
another right? Behold I have seen the messiah, Behold I have seen
the awakened one, behold I have encountered the Dalai Lama, but
where are you encountering it, you are encountering it in the person
sitting next to you, to the left and to the right and in front and
behind you. So here is the real test you can see how you are doing
vibration ally as you practice, everybody stand up and find two
people and look them straight in the eye and say I behold the Christ
as you, not in you, as you, I behold the Christ as you. How did that
feel and did you feel honored when somebody looked at you and said
that Did you feel honored? Because that is the truth of whom you
really are, and you notice at the seven eleven they don’t do that
with you. You see there is a point for the center experience, there
is a point to behold one another in this light. To really begin to
say wait a minute if the kingdom of heaven is everybody walking
around in the glory of God, then what is stopping this from being
the kingdom of heaven. The answer is because we don’t allow
ourselves to walk around in the glory of God. We don’t open
ourselves and so we say why then is there a need in this great
awakening world when the self is realizing itself and everybody is
that same self why do I need a group, why do I need to be part of a
spiritual community, why do I need some part of my life that is so
dedicated to my spiritual truth that I reflect it in every aspect of
my life, that I give from that place of spiritual truth. That I
communicate from that place of spiritual truth. When you know God is
all there is, and everybody in this room knows God is all there is
then why are we struggling with our wealth and our health and our
relationship and our sense of being alive in the presence of God and
the answer is because we are too busy dealing with the thickness. It
is too thick, it’s too thick all the time, so how can we get it to
lighten up, and how do we get it more buoyant. Was it really a
struggle to look at somebody and behold them as the Christ? No in
fact did you notice when you gave that knowledge that you enjoyed
receiving it, having the sweet eyes actually look at you and hold
you in that light, but did you notice how good it felt to hold
somebody else in that light? That when you begin to come from that
center, the center experience is both subjective meaning happening
inside of me, if I do not know how to find that still point.
Last night when the wind was blowing and woke me up I say oh maybe
this is my time to meditate and the ions were doing whatever ions do
but they were not helping me meditate so I just called myself back
into balance and tried to sleep longer and then I woke up again and
then my wife woke up and she thought a door was open the wind was
blowing so hard. She said she could not get back to sleep until I
was meditating for about twenty minutes because I had to take those
ions and say no, no, you are not fooling me, you can be negative
ions and positive ions, you can be whatever you are doing in the I
am world but I am that which balances and that which focuses and
that which brings forth, I am that. See when we start to really
personalize the I AM and say I AM that which sets causes in motion,
I am that which already knows the consciousness of all are one and
one responds to itself by corresponding to itself and how do I get a
larger and deeper and more profound consciousness. Well yes you go
to that center point, you do whatever you need to do to learn the
spiritual practices that will bring you deeper and deeper and closer
and closer to that center point. But I suggest in a world that is
having trouble commingling with itself that we had best become use
to getting into the center experience meaning to go to a spiritual
center that says behold the Christ in one another and practice and
practice. And can we as a group of souls gather together and love
one another and just say yes. Now does that mean everybody is going
to do things exactly the way that you like no, but that is not a
condition of my yes? Just because you do something that is not
always the way that I like it doesn’t make you any less God and it
doesn’t make you any less Christ. Your diminished size is in me not
in you, do you see it? If you say well so and so doesn’t behave in
the image of the Christ the way I see the Christ so there less than
the Christ and I am the Christ, do you see where the diminishing is
happening? The diminished size is always in me, it’s never in you
because it cannot be diminished in you, you are already the Christ,
you are already the Atman awakening, and you are already that power
coming into life. How much awareness you actually have is actually
going to be dependent on how willing I am to see you as it. Let me
say that one again how much awareness you have of yourself as the
awakened one, yourself as the ascended master coming into the
consciousness, the same consciousness that ascended masters are in.
Your ability to get there is going to be affected by the way that I
see you because I am consciousness creating experience and there is
no way that I cannot be consciousness creating experience. I am
always consciousness creating experience and so are you. If I say
yes and you say yes do you see how much more power there is? So now
everybody that was held as the Christ say yes to that, I am that and
now you are claiming it for yourself are you willing to claim it for
everyone else here? Now tell me where in the world you are
practicing that and the answer is right here in this church. See
Ernest Holmes the great philosopher he talked about this teaching
being the last great religious impulsion meaning the last push
towards the recognition of oneness in all. He didn’t say to be the
last great new religion, no to be the last great impulsion toward
the seeing one another as oneness. And we can only ride or use that
impulsion if we decided we are going to practice it in the objective
world. It will no longer serve us to stay in the caves and mantra,
we have to come out into the world and practice and if we can come
to a safe and sacred space, to community that is so deeply committed
to recognizing and realizing the truth in each other, then we can
practice and then we can from that practice take it back to our
offices and back to our work environment and back to our families
and back to our relationships and remember it is not always received
but that’s ok because there is a wonderful thing about the seven
days of the week and that’s the seven days after Sunday, it’s always
Sunday. So there is always a chance to come back and practice so
more. Seven days after Wednesday is Wednesday. There is always a
chance to come back into sacred community, into the center
experience and practice what it is to be in the center. To be
reminded what it is to live from spiritual practice.
I got an e-mail from a friend of mine who was my administrator at
the new thought center in San Diego and she worked by my side for
twelve years and five years ago she moved to Idaho and she sent me
an e-mail last week. She said this I don’t know if I learned this
from you or my original teacher but this is what I have learned. God
is all there is, God is all there is and is that feeling Christ
like? God or life is with and for me. God or life is with and for
me. God is with and for me, I love life and the last one she puts in
is love is the answer, love is the answer. So there it is God is all
there is, God is with and for me, I love life and love is the
answer. If you live by those principals you will become the Christ
and I could say if you live by the teachings of Jesus you could
become the Christ, if you live by the teachings of Buddha you will
become the Christ, if you live by the teachings of any of the
enlightened masters you will become the Christ, you’ll become the
Atman, you’ll become the Buddha but if your going to live by those
teachings you are going to need to practice. So what is the last
great religious impulsion, and it is coming together in the highest
vibration and holding that vibration and helping each other learn
how to hold that vibration and helping each other expand that
vibration and is it about you and me or is it about God and what’s
the difference? None my life is all about God, my life is all about
my own self realization. My life is all about myself realization
because there is only one of us here. That is the center experience.
The center experience is to know how to come into the light, to
practice being centered in that light and then to practice being
that light in the world.
Every person is a potential light worker whether he or she realizes
the truth at all or not, all one has to do to fill the role of a
light worker is to ask their I AM presence to help them be an open
door for the light of God. You are a light worker in the world and
the world is seeking to reveal the kingdom in earth as it already is
in heaven. How is it going to do that if it doesn’t do that through
you and me and the question is not why are not new thought churches
overflowing with the greatest amount of people in the entire world,
the question is not that all. The question is how can I be an
instrument of the light. What is mine to do in relationship to the
light and what is mine to do in this spiritual community Is mine
simple to show up or is my to show up and be the presence of God and
to help everybody else show up to be the presence of God. Because I
ask this one question if the world is going to wake up and everybody
already knows if it’s going to happen to us, it’s going to happen
through us, everybody already knows that. So I don’t ask the
question why aren’t our churches overflowing, I ask this question,
if we can’t do it who can? If we can’t do it who can, we are the
ones who are being asked to live from the upstairs consciousness to
come from the highest place of love. To recognize that the center
experience is yes within me, but humanity is terrible afraid of
love.
I told you the story years ago where I went to the car wash in
Sherman Oaks and I went to the guy that shines shoes and I chatted
with him every time that I went and one day I get up to get my shoes
shined and he say Dr. Moses this brother here is spiritual and you
have a lot in common because you are a spiritual guy and he is a
spiritual guy. He says well do you go to church and I said well yes
I go to church. He looked at me and said do you go to a regular
church, I said I go to church regularity and he jumped down out of
the chair and he said look at that Satin has a whole church working
for him, and he left. The shoe shine man and I were buddies and he
looked at me and I looked back and I said you know love is a very
scary thing. Because we have learned to be afraid of love, we have
learned to write all kinds of things into love. What did he mean by
that, what did she mean by that, what kind of love is ok, what kind
of love is not ok. You know what love in any way shape or form or
expression is ok. If you are having a low tolerance level to love,
then you know where you need to work because out of that low
tolerance of love, you hold your vibration down.
So in my centered experience in the world and by the grace of God
look what you have attracted to help you to wake up to your
divinity. Look to your left, look to your right, look behind you,
look at this building, look at this location, look what you have
attracted to help bring yourself into the full awareness of who and
what you are and that’s the kind of power you have and I say turn up
your light, let us all enter in to the center experience and you
know what everybody say yes, yes, we have a big yes happening here
and if you will open up to it, if you will decide to be an
instrument through which it is happening in the world, you will find
your life will get richer and it will get better and it will get
bigger and it will get clearer and all of your dreams really will
come true all based on your yes and based on your center experience.
Not just the objective one but the inner and the outer, this and
this from here. My friends it has been my honor and privilege to
share with you this morning and I love sharing the center experience
with you and I invite you to think on these things and together let
us explore the possibilities
