"Too Much Luggage"

Today’s lesson is entitled Too Much Luggage and so
I wanted to go back to something that I shared with you from Mark
10:25 which is the quote from the master teacher Jesus when he is
referring to the challenge that the rich man is having experiencing
a spiritual life. And Jesus says it is easier for a camel to go
through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to enter the
kingdom of God. Now first of all we need to make sure that we
understand what he is talking about and he is talking about entering
the kingdom of God and the hard part is for the rich man. Now what
happens for you and me when we hear that line is very often we think
that it is talking about tangible riches, that we think that a rich
man can’t get into the kingdom, well is there anybody here who
thinks that Oprah is going to have a hard time getting into the
kingdom? Do you think that Oprah is experiencing the kingdom as we
live right here and now? So we can see based on looking out into our
world that there are very wonderful powerful giving caring dedicated
souls who have all kinds of wealth.
So I want to talk to you about this idea of coming into the kingdom,
coming into the holy instant which extends for us for eternity and
to recognize that we have the opportunity to first of all to open
ourselves to that holy instant and then to experience the holy
instant and to experience the holy instant is to discover everything
else has no value. Meaning that it might have relative value that
you still might be able to clothe and feed yourself but you discover
the pearl of great price, you discover the thing that is of real
meaning to you.
So I want to remind you that also there was a great saint named St.
Ignatius Loyola as the song was the words of Saint Francis, make me
an instrument of thy peace. Make me an avenue of that holy
expression and that’s what saint Francis’s life was all about was to
be an avenue of that holy expression and it was beyond the Catholic
church and beyond all religiosity of the day, it became a way of
being so much so that his way of being without media became known in
the world of the day, by means of his loving consciousness. By means
of discovering that holly instant when all of a sudden we see the
real value in life.
So I remind you that St. Ignatius of Loyola who lived from 1491 to
1556 he says the glory of God, the glory of God is a human being
fully alive. The glory of god as a human being fully alive and what
I believe is the only way that we can really become fully, and
totally alive is to contact, to discover what is the holy instant,
what is that moment and to discover that when we have that moment
everything else falls into its scale of relativity. Things become
less important and we become more aware of this holy instant. Also
in the new testament in Luke 12:27 Jesus is referring to the
struggles of the souls who are struggling with their lives and Jesus
says consider the lilies and how they grow, they toil not, they spin
not and ok toil and spinning. Do we need any coaching on that?
Everyone knows from their life experience that we know a little
about toil and we know about the school of hard knocks or am I the
only one? So everyone say I AM, so I am aware of the human condition
and you have noticed in some of the human condition and in fact you
can look out in the world and see a lot of the human condition there
is something going on called suffering, have you noticed? Have you
noticed that you have done a fair share of that yourself?
So when we talk about the holy instant we are talking about a moment
when all of the suffering goes away and Jesus says consider the
lilies how they grow they toil not, they spin now and yet I say unto
you and here is where people get confused because they think that a
rich man can’t enter the kingdom and yet the same master teacher,
the same teacher that has lessons resonating out through time says
give up on the toiling, give up on the spinning because the lilies
in the field are so beautiful and they toil not. They toil not, they
spin not and then his next line in that same verse is consider not
even Solomon King Solomon the wealthy wonderful King Solomon who was
known as being a kind and gracious and powerful soul who took care
of his kingdom and here is a man with wealth and power and fame and
fortune and Jesus refers to King Solomon as Solomon in all his
glory. Meaning if you become one with the holy instant you may have
all the wealth of the world but it isn’t going to be about the
wealth of the world. So being a rich man has nothing to do with
stuff it has to do with can you be at one with the holy instant, at
one with knowing that you and God are an all sufficiency and know in
your heart of hearts that all sufficiency is the truth of who you
are and all you really truly yearn for is that holy instant, when
everything will be ok. Well we have holy instant many of us and we
don’t notice because we are so busy toiling that the holy instant
comes upon us and we say excuse me God I’m busy with my toil! I am
use to my life of toiling and spinning and working and being tired
and being exhausted so that I can finally get ripped, meaning I can
finally get the title rest in peace. And Thoreau said most people
are living lives of quiet desperation unable to notice the holy
instant.
So I will tell you a holy instant story that happened to me in this
room and you all notice that I talk a lot and a large part of what I
do for a living is talk a lot however I talk about my favorite
subject which is consciousness. I talk about consciousness from
every angle I can think of to talk about consciousness, I read about
consciousness, I discover consciousness, I open my heart to learn
more about consciousness, I care, I get it, consciousness is
everything and so I put my attention on consciousness and so here we
were in this sanctuary and I sit very often here in the front row so
you all did not see it. So the last time the choir sang something
happened to me and so much so Reverend Ann was sitting next to me
and she thought something was wrong because my heart got ripped open
and sometimes when the heart gets ripped open the eyes leak. So my
heart got opened because there was something in the music, in the
song, in the prayer in the atmosphere, in the practice in the
preparation, everything that happened that something penetrated my
heart and it was “that’s what it is all about”. That we can be
together as one in song and praise and thanksgiving and when it pops
through for a moment it’s the whole reason that I talk so much. It
just opened my heart and I went oh my God that’s the holy instant,
that’s the holy instant and I have noticed it years ago when I was
involved as the president of the affiliated network. I pulled all
these people together for conferences eight years in a row and then
in one holy instant on an all saints day it just opened up and
became a room full of light and it was a holy instant all of those
years of organizing and struggle it just popped through in this holy
instant of Oh my God I would trade all of it just for one moment
like that. If a holy instant is there and spread out across
eternity, if its there and spread across eternity isn’t the holy
instant always available? So it is not the holy instant that goes
away It’s I that go away from the holy instant because I’m busy
toiling And the lilies toil not and even Solomon in all of his
wealth, in all of his power, in all of his glory, in all of his
dignified giving to humanity even Solomon in all his glory is not
closed as one of those. So we say ok what is the holy instant and I
would suggest to you that the holy instant is the moment from which
absolute fresh creation can happen. Because in that holy instant
when you totally open up to the presence, to your love of the divine
and the divines love of you, as whatever, as whatever.
I have an eight week old golden retriever puppy in my house and that
little guy can sure bring you to the holy instant. You’re going to
either get upset about all the toiling around the puppy ness or
you’re going to fall in love and be instantly in love. And where do
you want to put your attention, on the love or on the toiling?
And most of us are so habitually oriented to our toils and struggles
that we don’t allow that holy instant so it’s easier for a camel to
go through the eye of the needle, meaning a camel does not need
anything except its camel nature A camel does not wake up and say
dear God I need to be a complete camel no it’s in its nature, the
puppy is not praying to be a fresh creation, to be a bundle of joy,
it just is that. It is busy with every little blade of grass and bug
and things that move and things that you can chew on, it’s just
busy. It’s not seeking out its infinite good, its just being in its
infinite good and you and I we are so use to our toils we would ask
the question are you willing to let go of how you use to vibrate?
Because we now know enough its now quantum science and spirituality
is now the same thing. Now a lot of people don’t get that yet but
that’s ok because they don’t understand your immersed in the
universe, the universe is always responding to you by corresponding
to you and since you’re not alone in the universe it’s responding to
everybody else. Then why do something work and something’s don’t
work well it depends on the total consciousness in the field and
when the math is right in other words the will of God is that
everything shall happen of its own accord according to the will of
the most high when the conditions are right So we ask what do we
have to do and you are a contributing member of the field of
consciousness and you are creating the primary vibration around your
own field of consciousness. So we then recognize that we must make
the decision about how were going to be and about what were going to
create. And I highly recommend that you get into joyous creation
because everybody all the time is always attracting or repelling
something. Everybody all the time is always creating something and
the question is what are you creating?
So today I want to give you some ideas that you can use to step out
of your toiling, step into the holy instant and create anew but in
order to step out of your toiling your going to have to put down all
of that luggage because too many of us are trying to get through the
eye of the needle, trying to enter the kingdom carrying everything
that I have. I want to come into the kingdom but I want to come into
the kingdom to be able to tell you about my sad story of woe. Well
how are you now, well I’m in the kingdom now but boy let me tell you
about my journey. We want to somehow get to the kingdom and somehow
be vindicated in our suffering, like somehow the amount of suffering
that we do over on this side of the needle meaning I’ve got to let
go of everything to come into the holy instant, to matter that this
is important. It’s not about how much talking you do Dr. Harry its’
about does your heart ever open up and actually let the spirit come
in and if your heart never opens up and lets the spirit come in you
can toil with your mouth all you want for ages and eons and nothing
will change . Oh because I am both the inlet and the outlet of the
divine. If I cannot let it in how can I let it out? We toil and we
toil and we want our struggles and all the things that we got in our
struggles including our successes and failures and we want to take
them all with us through the eye of the needle into the kingdom and
the kingdom says its all here, its all fresh, its all now, will you
claim it, will you claim the glory of God. What if in that moment
when you have deep joy so take a moment in your consciousness and
look anywhere in your life where you had deep joy and feel that and
let that come into the space. Oh the vibration of somewhere in our
life beyond our toiling we had deep joy and what if you lived your
life from that joy to the next greater level of joy, to the next
greater level of joy and that’s why Joseph Campbell the great
mythologist said the biggest challenges that human beings have is to
learn to tolerate our bliss. Because we get a little bit of bliss
and all we want to do is turn back and tell the story of our toils
Yesterday the practitioner was at the memorial and she said to me
isn’t it true that I visited you at the hospital when you just came
out from that disease and she said don’t you see that made you part
of who you are. Yes I see that but I don’t want to go over here and
toil in it. Oh yes I have had such profound suffering and after my
suffering I get a little glimpse of joy but remember the only reason
I have it is because I suffered so deeply. We don’t want to come
into fresh creation we want to carry our luggage with us. We want to
carry the luggage’s of our great successes, our great failures and I
have lectured to thousands of people and have them stand up and
applaud me all at one time and I say what does that have to do with
my talking with you, you see I want you to have that so that when I
come through the needle so you know how great I art. And the song by
the way is not how great I art, its’ how great thou art. See the I
AM that I AM is the great, the I AM that I AM always knows the
answer, its knows exactly what to do, it knows how to do it. If I be
lifted up all shall be added unto me the master said. If I be lifted
up it will come to me, not because of my luggage but because I was
lifted up. So we are not talking about a rich man we are talking
about someone who is so convinced of their own greatness that soul
is going to have trouble getting through the eye of the needle. And
any soul that says I don’t really care that they know my great
greatness but can’t I just take this one bag through. I will leave
the big one and take the two small ones. We all want to take
something through the eye of that needle from our past and you have
heard the I AM. I AM the alpha and the Omega, I am the beginning and
the end which means the moment of fresh creation is now. The moment
of fresh creation is now if I can get to it. Am I willing to let go
of the way I use to vibrate to create, I’m I willing to let go of
who I thought I was, am I willing to let go of the aspects of myself
that I needed to survive Is it finally safe to allow my original
innocence to come out? That little boy who could sit in the tree
with the snails and the ants and bugs and the birds and be at one
with it instead of yucked out by it. That original innocence where
we really knew we were one with creation where we could step through
and just allow the glory of God just like a puppy to be fresh for us
at every moment. To see it in every moment, to really come into that
holy moment where we go God is here right now and I’m going to leave
all my luggage behind and I’m going to look at you and see you and
allow myself to see you. Oh my god that those moments of clarity,
that way of living from fresh creation means I leave the entire
luggage behind and become present in the moment. And from present in
the moment I am now working on my ascended consciousness and now
let’s expand the word ascended because we always think in terms of
ascended meaning I am here and I have to go here but ascended is not
a linear path. Its not like well I’m vibrating here and then when I
vibrate here it will be all good, no ascendance is another word for
expansion of consciousness. That my consciousness now has more room
for a greater good, that my consciousness is expanding to allow a
deeper happening, that my consciousness is opening to accept my good
wherever it is and allowing it to enter in, That my ascension is the
equivalent of my expansion meaning my consciousness has more room in
it than it use to have and I begin to create from this new place of
fresh creation where I can hear the voice that says pick up your
book and carry it and we don’t argue so much or even if we argue a
little we don’t spend time over here toiling. I don’t toil anymore
and I heard you say take my book, well I don’t need my book, well
just take the book ok I will take my book and come over here.
Because as spirit is going to make the way clear and spirit the law,
karma life grace same thing its’ going to make the way clear
according to what I’m doing with it.
So here I want to give you some words and words have no meanings, I
give the words meaning Words that are about creating fresh. Are you
ready to create fresh in your life? Are you ready to allowing
something to just pop in and happen? Well I know you are because the
story that our treasurers is going to tell you is a true story and
its a story that does not match what is going on in the race right
now.
Anyone hear about the mortgage industry? So here we are we had a
bridge loan as a community where we were not in good standing and we
had to get a loan to get ourselves in position then we got in
position and then just as its time for us to get a new loan the
mortgage market goes crazy. So what do we do we do what were suppose
to do we don’t toil and we come into fresh creation and we say who
are we and what are we doing. Is this community about anybodies
greatness? No this community is about our greatness who we are as
naked spiritual beings meaning naked before God. We have no agenda
here except to birth forth the Christ the Atman the Buddha the high
self as God would have it. It’s naked and that’s who we are and so
we took that fresh nakedness and we said ok universe we need a
mortgage and all of sudden it popped through and we get a phone call
from the mortgage broker and I was expecting to get a call saying
its a tuff market no I can’t believe I found someone who just want
to give you your loan and it will be a twenty year loan, it won’t be
interest only it will be interest and principal and in twenty years
the whole thing will be paid for the future of this community. We
just bought your consciousness just bought the future of this
community and how did you do it, by means of not carrying your
luggage into the now. Does anybody have any challenges in their life
that they would like to have pop through? And what I want you to see
in fresh creation and the time is right for this popping through if
you will be willing to let go of the luggage and come into fresh
creation.
So let me quickly give you some words around how to create truth,
create from truth and truth is the essence of love yes? God created
the world and God so loved the world that the gave, he loves and
therefore gives. Truth is love, trust what we trust There is a part
of you that knows and knows that it knows and I call that part the
knows, the knower. The part of you that knows and knows that it
knows and what happens if you start knowing in your nakedness you
can be in the kingdom? You can let go of your luggage come fresh
into creation and trust that you’re dreams, your desires, your goals
your eternity is coming from this present moment of what ever it is
that you need. So truth and trust passion because under life what do
you have to do, you have to choose life means you have to choose
your life not just notice the life of the puppy, not just notice the
life of the garden, not just notice the fresh flowing water but
choose you as the one who is doing the noticing. I am choosing my
life, I am God’s creation, I belong to God, God makes glorious
things and I am choosing my life and I am choosing my life
passionately. You have got to wake up and say no matter what my
luggage is I’m choosing my opportunity for fresh creation. Clarity
and that is the time that we are running into when you let go of the
old your mind and body will come into realization that you are
already God.
I’m not going to become God, I am not one day going to be gone, what
do I teach in memorials and that there is only one truth and that
truth is life is right now eternal. Life is not going to become
eternal, life is right now eternal and if you are right now eternal
life then you are born in the image and likeness of God and you are
the glory and magnificence of God why don’t you put down the luggage
and step into fresh creation?
So we become clear and then we communicate and oh communicate is
hard people say Oh I don’t know if I can talk to God, oh yes you can
you can think a thought can’t you? If you can think a thought you
can talk to God and we start communicating. Well what about other
people they think and I thought and then why don’t you just ask them
directly, communication is part of clear and fresh creation,
completion.
Ever notice that the things that you don’t finish always remain
unfinished, finish them because every ending is but the overlapping
of a new beginning, it’s a continuality, completion finish whatever
it is you have to finish. Get it complete
Prayer, prayer is not just communication and I like hanging our with
Jesus and Buddha and St. Francis and the ascended masters and I like
them all and I like the angles and I believe in angles and
absolutely I believe in angels, why don’t I believe in a limitless
dimension expression of life absolutely. So I want to pray and when
I pray I want to talk to everybody. I have a coffee cup that
symbolizes my mom and so I have coffee with my mom every morning.
She is in another dimension and I don’t know if she still likes
coffee but she did when she was here I want to pray and communicate
with everybody in my prayer, with all of my be loves, with all of my
souls that I had a law of attraction with, meaning we were attracted
to each other. I want to pray and allow my prayer to be
communication with all levels of life and of course we need to
meditate. We need to get still because otherwise you toil, you need
to get still and know yourself as the I AM and from that I AM
create. I woke up and it was Saturday God and I said I don’t need to
pray so hard and God said sit up and meditate and I said ok and the
end of the prayer was may I be of service and I had no idea how
service would unfold in that day. We pray to get all the levels of
life to respond and now two more things.
Sleep state work do you know you have an aspect of your being that
is unconditionally loving, did you know that? You might have trouble
when you are in all your luggage reaching that part of you that is
unconditionally loving but none the less even in the midst of your
luggage there is your exalted self which is not carrying that
luggage which is fresh creation and you can direct your exalted self
to do work for you at night. I would get off of doing you and start
doing other people meaning who do you love? We use to do this as
kids when you would pray for your parents and grandparents and we
use to be good at it and we forgot. All you do is think of the one
that you want who is not loving you the way that you want or the one
who is loving you the way you want makes no difference. The one you
want to contact when you go to bed at night and falling asleep tell
your high self to communicate love to that soul whoever it is.
Regardless of who it is your banker, your tax man it doesn’t matter
you want them to know you at deeper level go pray go communicate
with their exalted self with your exalted self while your sleeping
High self go send my unconditional love and name it to who ever it
is tonight where you communicate my unconditional love where you get
into a soul communion with whoever it is you are going to be asleep
anyway.
Dr. Tom Kasta had this great line when you go to bed at night you
may as well give your problems to God because God is going to be up
all night anyway. Give your sleep permission to do good work for
you, direct it to do so and the last one that we all know and we are
all doing it together as a group is master mind.
What is master mind mean it means creating a group consciousness
around whatever it is you are trying to get? Whatever it is you are
trying to create. Do you want to see this community as a beacon of
light for the world reaching out and touching souls all over the
planet? Do you want to see it full and overflowing, do you want to
see new carpets, and do you want to see this place totally alive and
vibrant? So say yes, yes that yes creates a master mind
consciousness which attracts to us what we mean and you can do that
with all you need is two or more gathered to create a master mind
consciousness around whatever you are seeking. Get someone else to
go into the yes with you and create that yes.
So without luggage we can create with truth, trust, passion,
clarify, communication, completion, prayer, meditation, sleep state
work and master minding and from that place carrying no luggage just
carrying these qualities forward beginning to say what is the great
that I want in my life, what is the good that I would accept. Can
you tolerate your bliss to go from zero to eight hundred, just that
fast or do you say no I can’t go to eight hundred yet, I have to
toil I’m at four, no in fresh creation boom here it comes delivered
unto me. Whatever it is that you have been dreaming, whatever you
have been hoping but don’t give up on what you have been doing, just
let go of the luggage and just claim your good. Claim these
qualities of being use them in your life and you will discover as I
already know within my heart of hearts I really know your good is my
good and I want nothing for you but your highest good. I want
nothing for us but the celebration of your magnificence because I
already know you are the chosen of the most high and together we
will see it in one another and together we will create a new day and
a new possibility for our lives yes but for all humanity and the
earth. It is a big dream and in fresh creation I think we can have
it and I invite you to think on these things and together let us
explore the possibilities.
