“The Exalted Life”
Easter Sunday
Dr. Harry Morgan Moses
March 23, 2008
I think that for those of us who are light workers
in the world and we are defining light workers as anybody who knows
that what I am is what God is, that all are one. There is only one
life, one presence, one power and lives in and through as each one
of us and is announced and proclaimed every time we say I AM. What
we realize since were announcing and proclaiming every time we say I
AM we need to be mindful about what it is where I AM. Because we are
at a time when the opportunity longer is about simple, and have you
noticed that if you have been around more than a dozen years that
Easter comes every year and you also notice that Easter moves around
So since Easter moves around it cannot be like on the third day we
are celebrating the day that Jesus rose up out of his body and
became an immortal being. Because if we were celebrating the day we
would have to notice how many different days that we celebrate it.
So it is not about a day, it’s not about a time and space it’s about
a potential. It’s about a potential that some soul, some thousands
of years ago found within his heart recognized that it was the truth
of whom and what he is and claimed a yes to that potential in order
to make it kinetic. Because you see potential is always there, we
know energy and matter are equal and interchangeable so then we also
know scientifically there is only one energy in the entire universe.
There is one thing energy and so it’s always there in potential but
now we say now wait a minute what was the purpose, what was the
lesson?
I like to remind people just so it is clear there is no ambivalence
around the truth that Jesus was in fact a Jew. That not only was he
Jewish but he was also well educated in terms of Jewish law, in
terms of Jewish tradition, in terms of the meaning of this
scripture. So he came into a family where they were a Jewish family
where they were honoring the laws, they were honoring the Sabbath,
they were honoring the scriptures and he came into that family and
through that family got educated in Jewish law as that unfolded that
something within him, that potential of the one god that Abraham
announced, that potential of the one God entered into Jesus’ heart
and so say he was born with that potential entered into his heart
Jesus said these things and more shall yea do so there is an
implication that the potential that Jesus was born with is the same
potential that you and I are born with.
We are born with the potential to recognize who and what we are. We
are born with the potential to recognize that resurrection is the
death as Ernest Holmes said the resurrection is the death of belief
is simple the death of a belief that we are separated from God and
that potential has lived every Easter of your life. That potential
has lived every Easter of your life even though Easter moves around
and the question is have we stepped into that potential. Have we
allowed that potential to become the kinetic reality of our lives
because what was the purpose of Jesus’ ministry? In John 10:10 it is
very clear he says I came that you should have life and have it more
abundantly. That you could have life and have it more abundantly.
Now if we take that statement said by the master rabbi thousands of
years ago, two thousand plus years ago and we compare that to one
hundred and twenty some years ago to Henry David Thoreau, Henry said
most people are living lives of quite desperation. Now isn’t there a
big difference between your suffering and silence and the announcing
the heralding of this potential that you could have life and have it
abundantly. That your life could be whatever it is that you chose to
create if you could claim the victory of your own ascension, if you
could claim the victory of your own resurrection. And we say oh yes
but you see I just don’t have Yeshua Ben Joseph I don’t have a
personal Jesus to show me the way. Then there are some
interpretations say well you need to have Jesus the personality to
show you the way. But most of the people who wrote about Jesus the
personality never knew Jesus the personality. The first stories
written about Jesus were written eighty years ago and most of you
who have any background in biblical knowledge know that the primary
author, the primary teacher the way shower of the New Testament was
Paul. Bishop John Shelby spong in his book called rescuing the bible
from fundamentalism points out that Paul never met Jesus during his
lifetime and Paul who was filled with a bitter self loathing finally
came to the realization that the mystical Christ loved him. That
that love was so unconditional that he included his acts of
persecution against the followers of Jesus his self hatred and the
source of judgment against himself that that love and remember Paul
was walking down the road when he was converted and he saw the light
and the light came upon him and it literally changed his own nature
and he went from soul the tax collector to Paul the teacher of this
magical and mystical love. This mystical love is there for all of us
and the fact that he came and he came to give life more abundantly
is now our opportunity. And we say well are we waiting for another
messiah and I say you are that messiah. No I if you only knew my
problems you would never call me the messiah. If you only knew my
story of all the reasons why I cannot rise up in the victory of who
and what I really am and joyously create the life I have imagined.
Same author Henry David Thoreau when you dare to live the life you
have imagined you will meet with the success unexpected in common
hours. In fact when you dare to live the life you have imagined you
will discover all kinds of laws begin to work in your favor, in fact
a whole new order of being begins to show up as you begin to have
the authority to claim I AM the way the life and the truth. The I AM
that I AM if I would be a trope, trope means to turn to, if the I AM
that I AM is guiding, guarding, directing and protecting me, if I
will listen to that I will be lead. And how many times do we listen
to that or even know that we got the voices but were not tuned in
enough, were not paying enough attention to the divinity within us
to notice it, to catch ourselves in the miracle. How many times has
something happened in your life that you have said, “Oh I knew I
should have done that”? That you were told from the inside you knew
you should have done that and something within you and you went
ahead with your own plan anyway. See that’s to not be in trope, when
the trope moves there is no movement and you go oh I was going to
move this way no, no, never mind I’m going here. I would turn to the
wisdom of my high self over and over again and as I turn to that
wisdom I become the way and how is it going to show up? Are we going
to wait for a saint, sage mystic messiah to arrive and tell us how
it is or are we not the ones, see if the good is going to happen to
you? See you already know this if the good is going to happen to you
how it is going to happen it is going to happen through you. So if
the good is going to happen to us it’s going to happen through us.
And so there is an awakening, there is a quickening happening in
what Thich Nhat Hanh the great Buddhists monk calls the Buddha
awakening which would be the same as the coming of the cosmic
Christ. The next Buddha he says may take the form of a community for
a future to be possible, for a future to be possible our
enlightenment must be collective. Together we must see the light,
together we must choose the light, together we empower one another
to see the way the life and the truth that reveals itself to us and
through us because more deeply we become committed to the I AM that
I AM. More deeply do we begin to realize who and what I am and we
say well I love the idea and some of you have heard me tell the
story of my father and here is the essence? The essence is we each
one of us has to come to know our own immortality We must come to
know our own immortality now can you live a life without knowing
your immortality oh absolutely you can but if you live that life
your libel to miss the whole purpose of your being. For you as the
Tibetans say you came from the light you put on a coat of skins and
you shall return to the light and you never really left the light
even while you have a coat of skins. It is only one energy, one
truth whether I’m the light without a coat of skins or the light
with the coat of skins I am still the light and until we know
ourselves as immortal spiritual beings we will always not quite be
able to accept, we will not quite allow the transformation to enter
in to our being. It is written the eye has not seen nor the ear has
heard neither have they entered into the heart of man the very thing
which god has prepared. It has not entered into us the very glory
which God has already prepared for us but something within you knows
that glory, something within you is familiar with that glory,
something with in you yearns for the glory because if the truth of
who and what you are and that glory will only happen the moment that
you decide to make the potential kinetic. The moment that you decide
to live your life knowing that light and love and truth and wisdom
and peace and glory and harmony and the magnificence of the most
high all of it is already yours. Say oh but if you only knew “my
story”. And so we are given the opportunity to let enter into our
heart. I love this line written by Helen Keller she said keep your
face to the sunshine because when you have your face to the sunshine
you cannot see the shadows. It’s what sunflowers do, that’s what
Helen Keller said. Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see
the shadows. That’s what sunflowers do they are in trope there in
trope to their nature and ours is to be in trope to our nature.
There is to be in trope to the sun and ours is to be in nature to
the sun but not the masculine son and not the sun that shines to the
son and daughter of the most high, to the image of the Christ the
image of the Buddha, to the image of wholeness which we are created
in the glory of, the potential of our being. To step into the
potential of our being and call it out in kinetic reality. Where is
the face of love going to be if it’s not going to be in you? Where
is the face of joy if it’s not going to be in you, where is the face
of the glory of the most high going to be if it’s not going to be in
you? To the degree that you give it permission to other people to do
it they will have it and you will not. For the power is within you
to claim the I AM to be the I AM in action, Jesus said that all may
come and John said all may be made one like thou art in me and I in
thee and we may be one in us and I in them and they in me then all
may be in the perfect one. There is no separation not from a saint,
sage mystic, master or prophet or any enlightened soul is already
the I AM proclaiming to glory of the self and you are already that.
Waiting to rise up in yourself, waiting to give yourself authority
to allow the divinity within you to be the truth. Waiting to allow
the reality that you’re already a mortal spiritual being, to enter
into your consciousness deciding to claim it.
So there is something on the internet and you are liable to hear
about it particularly if you want to because if you want to you will
create something called attraction because there is a law that
responds to what it is you want and seek and ask for and we call
that law the law of attraction, the law of reciprocal action the law
of mind the law of karma who cares what law you call it, its all the
same law its the same principal. If you this video it will find its
way to you. The video is of a neuron science that had a stroke and
she knew enough about the nature of brain that she witness what was
happening to her as she was in the stroke experience What we know in
the physical reality is that the brain is divided in two half’s, you
have a left brain and a right brain. The left brain is the linear
brain it puts things in sequence past present and future, puts
things in order and identifies things as separate, that is the
function of the left brain but the right brain knows itself as one
with the one. The right brain knows itself as hard wired literally
the science of our day now points out the right side of your brain
is hard wired to the infinite. It is hard wired to the cosmos, it
knows itself as one with the one, it knows itself as light, love,
truth, wisdom, glory it knows every piece of information that is
entering in as the symphony as the notes of the music of God, it
knows all of that and its swimming in that bliss and wonder all the
time the right brain and your left brain say oh yes but out of that
whole potential of bliss I am this. And I am telling you this is
what I have learned and this is what I’ve experienced and this is
what I know about the world and we live in the left side of our
brain which is constantly telling us who we are because it doesn’t
really want to be told that your just one with the energy soup of
the cosmos. Your just one with the glory of the most high and if you
really wanted to you could fall back into your right brain
physically as its wired, you could fall back into the glory of God
but your left brain says no, no, I have a story, I have my life, I
have pain and sorry and doubt and fear and worry. I have my
separateness and God forbid I should dissolve into the light even
though I am light. It doesn’t want you to know that your one with
the light, it doesn’t want to move into commingling. That is why we
talk so much about balance because we need to come into daily as Dr.
Holmes reminds us to meditate on the glory of the most high. Daily
we should pray into the I AM that I AM and know ourselves as that
light that love that truth why because our left brain is everyday
saying no your not Your this identify in the world, you don’t know
yourself as birth less, deathless, changeless and whatever you do
don’t fall into that right brain because you like to fall into
ecstasy and then we will lose you when the truth is you emerged from
the light you put on a coat of skins and you will return to the
light, you are already one with the light, there is nothing in there
to lose. So how does this relate to the Easter story, there is a
theological connection around the seven words that Jesus spoke They
are not in any one gospel they are in several gospels and I’m only
going to put my attention on two of them related now to this story
of mind and brain because the brain is an instrument of mind. It is
only reflection of the masculine and feminism principal of God. God
is both the perfect omnipresent peace poise balance and power of
self. God is already that whole perfection and god is also the
activity of God expressing as you and as me. God is both of those
things and God is already perfect stillness and God is also God in
action at all times, God is both of those things at all times, God
is both the left brain and the right brain. You never see the left
brain functioning by itself it needs a right brain to have the
ground of its being. We need to have the ground of our being in
order to express out in the world except we come to believe our left
brain telling us that were separate, apart and alone and afraid and
disconnected, all by ourselves we go out there into the left side of
ourselves and really believe I’m out here in the far country and I’m
going to die. And what is the truth the truth is the moment you turn
home, the moment you remember who you are. So here it is the
theological thing I think it’s the fourth word and he says and there
are two interpretations of it. One of the interpretations he says my
God, my God why has thou forsaken me. The Aramaic scholars and Jesus
spoke Aramaic and the Aramaic translation is my God my God for this
I’ve come into being But the Greek and Jewish scholars say you don’t
have it right and there is another interpretation from the Greek and
Aramaic side that says what he was saying is my power, my power why
have I lost my power. So let’s look at that one for a second,
because what we are wanting to get to is the understanding that the
victory of our lives, the victory of our lives is already complete.
We say no Dr. Harry don’t tell me the victory of my life is complete
because you don’t know about my story. You don’t know about where
I’m suffering so deeply, you don’t know how far I am at the end of
my rope, you just don’t know out there in the left it just wants to
keep going. So the victory of your life which is you came to have
life and to have it more abundantly, you taught to bring life and to
bring it more abundantly that you came into this human condition to
say there is something better than war. In my life they were suppose
to be finished with war when world war two came. I was born after
world war two and there was suppose to be no more war. We did world
war one, we didn’t do well we did it twice. Then in my lifetime what
do we do we had Korean war then we were not happy with that and we
had a Vietnam war, then we were not happy with that we thought we
would have a Arakie war then we thought we would have another arakie
war. Two thousand years ago in that land he said I came to have life
and have it more abundantly, well somebody had better show up and
you and I are the one. We are the avenue through which it shows up
But we say how can I I have my story. Even the master had a story
but he had to remember who he was, he had to know the victory was
complete and he did know the victory was complete. He knew the
Sunday before when he walked into town; he said this victory is
complete and were going all the way. When it gets tuff when you
start to go wait a minute I’m living my life for the glory of God,
when it starts to get really tuff we go, oh my god, my god why have
thou forsaken me, when it gets really tuff we pull back and Ernest
Holmes said this great line to desert the truth when you really need
the truth is to prove that you never really meant the truth in the
first place. So we have to get to that crossroads of that moment and
so here Jesus moment and here is a guy that causes the blind to see,
the lame to walk the deaf to hear this guy had some reputation as a
miracle worker yes? This was all his mission that I have to die, I
have to come back so they really see I’m immortal, so they really
know I’m going to anchor this for all humanity I’m going to bring it
forth and this is what he is going to do. He sees what he has to do
and he is committed and this is what he is going to do, he is going
to make this story change the human condition. So in the Garden of
Gethsemane he says this story is looking ruff and he said no, no,
not my will but thy will be done. He remembers why am I doing this
and here is the drama, ok here God I get the drama and you know what
I’m talking about you ever have that drama? We finally get there and
then we think oh my god the drama is going to swallow me just for a
second and then you may have a vision or you may have a friend who
will come to you and say the same words again, reach just a little
bit higher, just reach a little bit higher and then that crisis has
passed and you say thank God I made it, but you are all set up for
the next one now. Because unless you take the lesson all the way
home it is going to recreate itself. This is the moment where Jesus
has to take this lesson and he says ok I have had enough of this
drama I think I will do a little miracle working here so he does a
miracle and steps out of this body as it isn’t helping me anymore
right and he goes to work his miracle and its not there. It is like
waking up from a dream, I think I need to wake up now and I’m not
waking up right? So for a moment he says my power, where did it go
but remember his teaching was that he came that you could have life
and have it more abundantly. He said these things and more can you
do, he said behold the kingdom of heaven is at hand. So his ministry
his life wasn’t about the miracles he could work he knew that and
that was why he was doing what he was doing. It wasn’t about the
miracles it was about the power, the ground of his being, the right
side of his brain which all the reality of life emerges his power
came from his marriage with God. His power not from his left brain,
not from his right brain but by the marriage of the left and right.
Not from his masculine side, not from his feminism side but by the
marriage. Not from the love but not from the law but by the
marriage, it came by the marriage his authority. So it was his dream
and at the eleventh hour he could work a miracle no, his dream was
that everybody should know that they could work miracles. That
everybody should know the glory of life that is the truth of who and
what they are. So what is the next line, my power, my power where is
it gone and just like he did in the garden he said no, no, not my
will thy will be done. At the same moment he says I thirst well what
is he thirst for? He thirst that all humanity will know who and what
they are, he thirst that all humanity remembers there is no
separateness power it all emerges from the one power He thirsts that
everybody should know the divine marriage that there already held as
the ancient Moses said in the underlying arms of God, were already
held there, I thirst not that he could not be whole, complete and
perfect without everybody getting it but that something within him
the very core of his being existed so that everybody could have it.
I thirst not for me, I thirst not for me Yeshua Ben Joseph I thirst
for all humanity. Just as the Buddha said as long there is suffering
in the world let me be among it. He thirst for all for every the
divine one will leave no one out. The cosmic sweep of love includes
everybody and that the moment he goes from my power, I don’t have
any power I thirst that everybody should have the power and just as
soon as he says I thirst as soon as he remembers in that cosmic
moment he says it is finished, and it is complete. Do you see in
that moment in that moment the Easter story was victory, it was
already done, he completely got it. He said oh my God as soon as he
knew it was for everybody, as soon as he knew the Christ belongs to
everyone, the Buddha belongs to everyone as soon as he got it he
said it is finished. Now the Easter story came later, the showing of
the body the reminding people of telling the story the coming into
his full ascension but it happened in that moment when he said it is
finished, it is finished and my friend David said are you going to
tell them anything of value tomorrow, a value in their life, not a
religious story but something of value and I hope so. If I take out
something of value on this day then I have missed the mark because
Easter was established in consciousness. It was a victory well
before it ever happened and your life is a victory to the glory of
God. It’s already a victory in the glory of God but it cannot be
that for you and it will not be that for you until you put your
faith in the invisible side of life and claim your victory out of
the ground of your being. Claiming the victory of your own life, you
came that you could have life and that everybody around you could
have life and have it more abundantly. And your measure and your
Easter and your resurrection it is already done and this is the
great gift but the saints, the sages the masters the ascended
masters of all times taught to us. And it sits here in this day in
potential waiting for us to know that the victory of my life, the
glory of who I am as the Christ the Buddha the Atman the awakened
has already been established by God therefore the victory is
complete and I am looking forward to another nineteen hundred years.
But we say but how do I make the victory complete and our beloved
Ralph Waldo Emerson gave us a very simple tool he said act as if and
it shall be.
Today my friends go out into the world celebrate your Easter act as
if the victory is complete and the celestial choir will join in your
song, the angels and archangels will support you in the glory of
your life. The choirs will sing and the masters will bow because you
are already the Christ awakened and the victory is complete
I invite you to think on these things and together let us explore
the possibilities.
Namaste........................
