"I AM IN THE NEW ERA"

Today’s lesson is entitled I am in the new era and
so there are a couple of things that I want to share with you. A
tape set is available which covers four weeks of this subject and we
are going to open ourselves to this subject today and I invite you
to follow what inspires you and go deeper if you choose to.
One of the quotes in this book keys to wisdom too which I premise in
the opening of the book because the premise is that truth always
transcends any context that presents it. Truth always transcends any
context that presents it. So I am not personally not interested in
where truth comes from, I am interested in whether the truth is true
and I believe that in the new era truth belongs to everyone, as it
already does but the awareness is that I have been lecturing for a
good long time and I have a policy which is I will quote somebody
and most often if I quote them three times I will mention their name
and after the third time I will just use it as truth. So some people
say Dr. Harry does not always give credit to who he is quoting and
the answer is because I’ve been culling for a long time and I am
only interested in truth and I don’t really care where it came from.
The interesting thing is all of us have a capacity; all of us have a
capacity to discern truth. It is a gift of the self, it’s in there
this capacity to discern the truth and so my friend Dr. Terry Cole
Whittaker said this profound line when she was lecturing in our
group a few months ago. She said you know how you recognize truth;
you know how you know if truth is truth, you know truth is truth
because truth makes you feel good. Truth makes you feel good so the
bottom line is when you come here on a Sunday you may notice if you
will get your “stuff” out of the way and let your stuff go to the
side and open yourself up to listen, to feel, to connect, to open to
the great creative space that we create through the music and the
prayers and your willingness to look at a higher truth all the time.
You will see that you leave here feeling better, that you usually
leave here feeling better and the reason you leave here feeling
better is because truth has been shared. Your soul recognized truth
wherever it is. So I am going to throw out some ideas this morning
and its not important whether they come from me, or Ernest Holmes or
Glenda Green or anyone else what’s important is do you recognize it,
does it resonate as truth to you. Essentially I believe that we have
in our teaching which is a pretty simple teaching and it is simple
but it is deep but it is simple. The teaching in new thought by any
other name is really based on the principal of love and law. That we
live in a universe that is impelled by love, that its very existence
is because God loves itself. That we live in a universe impelled by
love and therefore the cosmic motion of the universe is actually the
expression of love and the second part of our truth and this has
been known and you can go to any library around the world and there
are volumes of books about love and you will find the core of almost
all religious teachings somewhere talk about love. In the Eastern
tradition there is more talk of emptiness which is a field but you
will find when you get to the field of emptiness it is filled with
love. We go through a journey to really learn and you somehow know
in your heart of hearts the only thing important in the entire
cosmos and the only thing important in your life is love. You really
know that and then we chop love up in all of these different
categories of our life, health and wealth and love and relationship
and purpose and we try to divide it up but there is only one thing
and through this whole journey of your soul it will eventually come
down to what did you learn about love and what did you do with your
gifts? What did you learn about love and what did you do with your
gifts. Well so I believe that we are in a time a time of critical
mass as it were and that this critical mass is bringing forth a new
era. How many people in their consciousness by a show of hands have
heard something about the year 2012? Let me tell you about 2012 and
I am a Californian and when I was growing up about forty years ago
they started talking about California as earthquake country and that
California was going to fall into the ocean and you might remember
there were predictions of the day that California would fall and
over the course of three to five years one of these new characters
would say oh the day that California is going to fall into the ocean
the day is coming and so people were buying property in Los Vegas
hoping it would be beach front property and of course those days
came and not even a tremble, nothing happened and so this idea of
2012 as the age of Enlightment is coming upon us, the coming of the
cosmic Christ will be realized. That some say Jesus is going to
appear standing over the ocean so you know for sure that it is
Jesus. But the idea of it is that the critical mass of humanity is
going to come into the realization of only one. One power, one life,
one truth, one God belonging to all people, one law and that’s the
second part of the principal love and law. And we know this law when
we speak of the law which is the law of mind, the law of Karma, the
law of cause and effect and they call it in the movie the secret the
law of attraction. It is the same law one law in essence that
receives the impress of our consciousness the total of our
awareness, our thoughts feelings words and deeds, the sum total of
our awareness creates this invisible reality called consciousness
and this invisible reality called consciousness is the thing that
the law responds to. It reflects back into our lives the sum total
of our consciousness. So a lot of people are taking this and saying
do you think I meant to come into poverty, do you think I meant to
break my leg, do you think I meant to get a disease, no, that’s not
what it is about. What it is about is out of ignorance for lack of a
better word, Ernest Holmes the great metaphysician he says that
knowledge alone is salvation so that we rise up out of our ignorance
and we realize that we live in a universe of correspondence. That it
is always responding to us and the challenge for you and me is we
tend to because of our physical lives we get stuck and we begin to
believe that we are our experience. That I am what ever my problems
are that I am what my story is. I understand that there is one God,
one power, one life and its all love but let me tell you my story. I
can access this one power, this one presence but I have particular
rules and conditions in my story that prevent me from doing this. So
we constrict on this life and therefore miss the presence and
immediacy of love, the opportunity that we have to connect with one
another. To really recognize that the fact that I am an experience
with you is the act of love is the very presence of my own
immortality. And someone says what is going to happen in 2012 is
what the sooth Sayers believe is that the world is going to awaken
to love and harmony as heavens first law. This is a nice idea now if
you have read the newspaper this week you will notice that there is
not much in our physical world that is representing that idea? So
here is where the gap is because not enough humanity recognizes
first of all one God, one power and not enough humanity recognizes
that one power is in you and me and not enough humanity recognizes
that my only obligation to you is to love you, that is my only
obligation.
So here is what I say I believe energies are shifting because I have
been an oneness person now, a consciousness oneness person for more
than thirty years and I have been aware of one life, one power. I
have been aware of this law that responds by corresponding to my
awareness and I work this law in much different iteration, many
different ways and shapes and forms as I have continued to grow.
Also in the course of my ministry I have had the great fortune to be
able to escort people from this life into an ongoing life and what I
can tell you about souls that live with the awareness of one life
and one presence is that it serves them well in their immortal life
It serves them well as they go to cross over so we are always
wondering do I have the truest truth. Well I can’t help it if my
truth is a little truer than yours and we have always arrogance or a
question about our faith. I say the reality is truth makes you feel
good and therefore your truth walk should be causing you to
progressively feel better, to progressively feel better about who
you are, to feel better about the life that you are living, to feel
better about the love your expressing in, that as you follow your
own truth your life feels better. And so what I say is we all know
enough about science now that we know there is a thing called
critical mass and if we reach critical mass things will shift,
things will shift. If we stay below critical mass they will not
shift so if there is going to be a new era I say the new era is
going to emerge from our consciousness It is going to emerge by the
way you and I as awakening souls are, the way we be in the world.
So I am going to share some ideas about what I believe and the
interesting thing is in humanity there are many different cultures
from the Minoan tradition to traditions out of Peru, to Gaelic
traditions, out of native American traditions, there are many
traditions that suggest that we are coming close to this epical
change, to a change of epic. So if I was to just take one of those
calendars and tell you that the epic measures about five thousand
years, but through all of these different heritages if you look at
them the epic they are all pretty much in agreement, never knew each
other, never wrote books, never connected and all these different
cultures all said around this time in the late nineteen nineties we
are coming into a new epic. So we are talking about people with very
little math skills but the Minoan had some math skills and the
pyramid people had math skills but something happened to connect all
of these different cultures to say that these epic times last about
five thousand years and all of them say we are in a change of epic.
I say this without computers and your trying to predict a five
thousand year time you may be off by seven or eight years? If there
is going to be a change of epic I say the I am people the people who
are waking up had best be about their best practices, is that making
sense? Because it cannot happen unless critical mass moves it
forward to that area, whether someone has predicted it or not, it
cannot happen unless the reality of critical mass moves awareness to
a new level. Touch yourself and say I AM you see when I say I am I
have no argument. When you say I am you get an agreement from
yourself now what we say in our teaching is I am the awakening
Christ, I am the awakening Buddha, I am the awakening Atman, I am
the way the light the truth, I am the resurrection and the life. Now
I argue with myself when I get there because when you say I am but I
have a health issue, I am except I have a money issue, I am except I
have a relationship issue, I am except I really don’t know what I am
doing in this life, so as soon as we go to put an object at the end
of the I am, we no longer agree with ourselves anymore. So we get
this high idea that I am the Christ, I am the awakening soul, I am
the one with the light, the truth, the wisdom, I am that and then we
realize that we are arguing with ourselves and there is no one out
there who’s mind you need to change if your arguing with yourself.
There is no one out there whose mind you need to change if you’re
arguing with yourself. The only work that I have to do is within me.
Now what I find that as I do that work and as my practice evolves I
am way more interested in allowing this thing that we call one God,
one life, one intelligence, then if there is only one intelligence
that one intelligence must be all intelligence, is this clear? If
there is only one life and one intelligence and I draw my life from
that life then I draw my intelligence from that life yes? But it is
all intelligence so this is what we do we pray to a God that we
believe is all intelligence and then we tell it what to do! Now wait
a minute, I don’t need to tell God what to do, and as a matter of
fact I need God to show me what to do because the finite cannot
encompass the infinite. The infinite can however encompass the
finite. So I find I am way more interested in using this law toward
a higher context rather than content. So we are going to look at a
couple of ideas of how I need to be in the new era.
If there is anything in you that says I might do well by letting go
of some of my struggles, I might do well by opening up to these
ideas that cause me to come here every week. I might do well by
softening up a little bit.
The new era is the great marriage of heart and soul mind and body,
self with self and collectivity to all in the oneness of God, that’s
what, is unfolding. So there are ways of being that we can carry
that will help create this critical mass. If we are correct and we
are vibrating closer to the truth and because we are vibrating
closer to the truth because we come in trope with our higher self we
begin to experience a different quality of life. I have lived fifty
something years and I have found as I have been working in this new
way a different quality of life emerging and it is based always on
what I create in consciousness that works with the one working with
me. So we always have the power to choose how we will be.
So the first thing in the new era is that you have to love yourself.
You have to love yourself and a lot of us are not good at that. The
way I say love yourself means love the ride that you are having.
There is a German mystic who does his prayer work at night and wrote
a book called the science of consciousness and he says good night to
himself and his favorite masters and he goes to bed. Isn’t it
interesting when we go to sleep we say I am going to sleep, and we
don’t really know where we go, we just assume we go to sleep so this
mystic says goodnight to everyone and in the morning he goes oh look
it is you again, meaning when we go to sleep and we wake up in the
morning and its us, we should be grateful To really notice that you
need to love the self, the you that’s having this experience and to
carry that with you.
The second quality is following your own truth. Truth belongs to
everybody and its emerging authentically within all of us because
you have the capacity to recognize truth because you’re the only one
who knows what truth makes you feel better So you follow your own
truth. Your truth tells you something, follow that. You need to
trust your truth, when you follow yourself, you need to trust
yourself I find that I am not so interested in doing so much as I
use to do I am way more interested in discerning what is it that my
authentic self wants to do and what is it that it needs to do and
all of a sudden we find there is still doing but there isn’t this
constant chasing to catch up with ourselves. And the third one is to
allow the abundance of the self. Now most of us think of abundance
in terms of money but money is just a form of energy. To allow the
abundance of the self means to begin to wake up to the fact that you
can see the flowers, to begin to wake up to the fact that you can
see the sweetness of David’s son laying on his chest. That you know
what that is, to begin to wake up to all of the different ways that
you are being fed abundance, all of the time and it’s emerging from
yourself. Just those categories are life giving and life enhancing
and there are sixteen of these points and I am only sharing four
now. I want to mention two more because I think that they are
important.
Sixteen ideas if you practice all the time they will make you feel
better. So under creation the first one is take responsibility for
your own creation. Anyone ever made a mess in their lives? I turn
around and say oh my God I didn’t mean to do that but it was me that
did it, and I made a mess and I mis-created so I’m taking
responsibility. Now I have also done things that are pretty positive
so I ’m going to take responsibility for all my creations. The next
one is giving your creations life and freedom which means let your
work do it work. Let your work do its work and I have been lecturing
and by the grace of God I lecture three to four times a week, and I
have been doing this for a long time and you sort of wonder, does
anybody ever hear anything that I say and finally as I begin to
practice to let my work do its work, all of the sudden the phone
rings and some one asks can I get this and someone asks can you come
here and it’s all of a sudden I’m giving my work permission to do
its work and my work is doing its work, sometimes when I am doing
absolutely nothing. Give your creations life and freedom and at the
same time give everyone else’s life and freedom Give creation life
and freedom.
Under life the third category down here are two things I want to
remind you that you already know. Honor life, treat life as is the
golden rule. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
Treat all of life as you would like life to treat you. This was
brought forward thousands of years ago but it is an active principal
we need to be aware of in a more conscious way. The other one is to
have the second one which I learned from my journey with the Dalai
Lama. I thought I knew something about compassion and in the nine
years since we went to India I have learned so much more because the
Dalai Lama planted this seed in me. The Buddhist heart is infinite
compassion so I can look at my mis-creations and I can have
compassion for Harry who made a mess. Sorry Harry, I love you, I
bless you and I extend the best to you for even your mis-creations.
To have compassion for yourself and then to have compassion for all
others. Do you know anybody in your experience that has mis-created?
If you could extend the compassion to yourself only then can you
extend it to them. See these principals beginning to take everything
that we have learned and putting them together and claiming them as
the context of our lives and allowing God to create the content. The
context is I will show up here in choice and my choice to be love,
my choice to be service, my choice to be joy, my choice to be
innocent. I will show up in those choices and then I will see what
God does and God give me you and every face and every eye and every
hug God sends. We begin to let God work in us and as us and through
us.
I have only one message for you this morning which is I believe in
the new era and I believe we are its keepers. We are its way
showers, we are its ushers and so I invite you to consider being an
usher to the new era and not to wait until 2012 but to begin in
earnest today in a new way. My friends it is my honor and privilege
to be with you this morning and I invite you to think on these
things and together let us explore the
possibilities.................
