"Home In the New Era"

Bring it on everything different, everything true.
I am ready for my next thing to do; oh I know it’s going to be
everything new. From Ernest Holmes the birth of Christ is not a
historical event but is an eternal incarnation. Christ is born in
each age and reborn in every individual soul. This new birth takes
place in such a degree as we become conscious of the divine presence
and permit its entrance into the intellect. You are not the obliged
servant of your history’s perpetuation, you are also not your
stories history, her story it’s all story. You must shift your
attention from the identify you hold in stories to the truth of who
you really are, you were created to live above and beyond all
stories
So today’s lesson is entitled Home in the new Era and as Sharon
shared in her last line that when we know ourselves as consciousness
we will know ourselves as home in God. This is a very big idea and
it requires that we shift, it requires that we let go of our old
stories and we begin to accept a new possibility. We begin to accept
that I live as Ralph Waldo Emerson the great mystic from the
eighteen hundreds said I live in a liquid universe that appears as a
solid fact and so we are in the process you and I of coming into the
third appearance in fact our next year’s theme is the joy of living
the third appearance. So let me reiterate to you when we talk about
the principal of a Christ were talking about a principal That
principal has been defined in other traditions by other names in the
Buddhist tradition it is called the Buddha awareness. In the Hindu
tradition it’s the story of Krishna and it is called the Atman the
high self guiding all the way through this high self. Hindu calls it
Atman, Buddha calls it Buddha, Christian would call it the Christ
consciousness we would call it in psychology the higher self. It
would be by many different names this principal of our awakened or
our son to truth. See we were born in the image and likeness of God
if you go all the way back to the book of Genesis the first book in
the bible it says God said let there be light and there was light
and God said let there be all things the spirit of God the awareness
of God because where do we find spirit? See there are some
interchangeable words here as we begin to grow in our understanding.
The interchangeable words are spirit which is an interchangeable
word, consciousness is an interchangeable word, and awareness is an
interchangeable word because in order to experience spirit we must
be aware. In order to experience spirit we must be aware. So we find
that this journey of our spiritual development is a journey in
awareness, a progressive shifting of an understanding of who we are.
So here we are home in spirit here in our spirit of home program and
the idea is to discover that I am always home in spirit and then in
fact if I am always home in spirit then I am always home in my
awareness, and if I’m always home in my awareness that is in fact my
consciousness is the truth of who and what I am. So we all know we
have heard the expression were beginning to understand it evermore
deeply that we are spiritual beings having a human experience.
We are spiritual beings having a human experience however what we
tend to do is we come into our humanity and we think we are human
beings yearning for spirit so in this dimension its hard. Light
vibrates as hard and has anybody noticed anything hard in their
life? So we come across this stuff in the three dimensional world in
this dimension of world and we believe that it is hard yet the truth
of our being is we are spiritual beings and we are home in the
spirit of our awareness. But to the degree that we believe we are
human beings, to the degree of that belief according to the law of
our belief comes our experience. So we are yearning we have gotten
the intellectual understanding that we are spiritual beings and now
we need to move into the consciousness or the awareness
understanding that we are spiritual beings. And we understand that
this liquid part of my life, again I will repeat it Ralph Waldo
Emerson, one of the great inspirations for Ernest Holmes through out
his entire life, Ernest Holmes the great metaphysician who wrote the
book the Science of Mind who founded religious science churches and
who started his version of new thought awareness in the world and he
drew a lot of inspiration and he would read every year Ralph Waldo
Emerson essay’s and in those essay’s he says we live in a liquid
universe. So we are talking about home in a new era meaning to come
home to a new state of consciousness and to live in that new state
of consciousness as the way we express our life. Always knowing that
new state of consciousness is liquid and is constantly changing.
Let me share a couple more things so you and I are about birthing
this Christ, this Atman, this high self, this Nashama the Hebrew
word the soul nature of ourselves. We are seeking to live from this
higher aspect of ourselves that is constantly reframing ourselves
because we are constantly creating in consciousness. We are
constantly attracting or repelling something and as I often say
there is no neutral, God put on clutch on that puppy! You cannot say
well I will just push the clutch in and I will stop creating no, you
are always attracting or repelling something. You are always
creating, you are always the sum total of everything you have ever
thought, said , done and felt, ah and here is where you can’t stop
it. You are always in the activity of thinking, saying, doing and
feeling something. You are always in the activity of thinking,
feeling, saying and doing something. I had this interesting line I
did this lecture a week ago and I lectured for an hour and sometimes
in the midst of focusing these ideas you can tell when you catch the
wave, you ride the way and you know it was powerful and something
much greater than myself will show up and about forty five minutes
into this lecture I realized wow we caught a wave here and were
surfing this wave and then I sat down next to my friend Dr. Maureen
Hoyt and she says to me it is such a bear at the lowest level of my
judgment is the highest level I can go to and I just sat down after
doing this really high work and she zings me with this one. And when
you think about it it is true at the level that we hold people away
or we judge or we hold people apart that level is measuring out to
us as high as we can get because you’re not going to get higher than
your lowest denominator. We are in the process of constantly
clearing out our thoughts, catching us in our errors, catching us in
our metaphysical mess so that we don’t do that.
My wife went to study with Maria Nemeth who has been our guest. She
has written a wonderful book called Mastering Life’s Energies and
Drenda went to Maria’s workshop and she got an insight there she has
never had before by means of participating in this seminar. The
insight was there is no job that you’re too good for, yours is to do
what yours is to do. Your not to good for the job if its yours to do
its yours to do and seeing that for her it took away all of her
metaphysical hotie totieness and she started realizing there is no
job that I am to good for her and as a result when she jumped into
her real estate business with this attitude she has been able to
achieve success because she just knows everything that is hers to do
is hers to do. So you and I say oh I’m above that, I have already
grown above that, I was last week with a student of mine who studied
with me for a number of years and took his own separate course into
ministerial training and then got his ministerial license and he
says to me you know I just don’t need the group anymore. I said
where do you practice and he said I practice everywhere I go and I
said oh you behold the Christ, the Atman, the Buddha, the high self
in every person you see where ever you go and he says yes. I said
that is really good practice but what are they doing. Have you ever
noticed as though you can take a moment when your in your journey to
talk to the person at the 7-11, to actually make eye contact with
your dry cleaner, to actually look the person at the check out
counter in the eye, you can take a moment and seriously behold them
as the Christ, you can greet them as the Christ? That can happen to
you but in most cases they are not greeting you back that way are
they? So we say you need the group and your practicing everywhere in
the world well I think that is wonderful but your practicing on only
half the playing field. Which is why in Buddha they talk about the
Dharma and the Sunga? The sunga is the energy of the group, the
dharma is the way, and the sunga is the way that we practice in a
group. We need a group so that we have a place to practice, yes I
can practice everywhere in the world but there not practicing back.
How is it if I behold you as the full orbed realization of God, how
is it that I can play in the field of that and receive the energy
back is when you hold me that way as well. So here is the
interesting thing the way it comes out I will tell you a story
because what I believe is what we are doing here is the sunga, its
the practice in a group of what happens when we hold each other to
see each other as the light of God. To hold each other as Walt
Whitman the great poet he says behold everywhere I go I see the face
of God. But in the sunga, in the birds of the feather flocking
together were practicing back with each other. What happens when you
come into a space and you practice seeing each other as God?
We had an experience here and the foyer is all painted and we did
that in two phases because people took responsibility, there was no
job they were to high for. I have evolved and I don’t paint anymore,
I don’t wash windows anymore but we had souls that showed up and
said I will do my part and I will find mine to do and the plan to
paint was eight to three well all these people came together and
everybody held each other in this high light and we were done an
hour early. Well yesterday seven people showed up and we had a
bigger job to do and fewer people and the whole thing got done
including the pictures hung forty five minutes before we said we
would have it done. Completely done, now how does that happen and
the answer is when you come together with high intent and you hold
each other in the highest levels of love and your willing to know
yours is to do whatever yours is to do, if your not to high for that
job, amazing things can happen and everybody does their part and I
don’t think anyone walked away saying someone was to bossy, no body
bossed anyone everybody just found what was there’s to do and the
job got done. What happens in the sunga when were willing to
discover that we are home in a different place that all of us are
lying on the floor scrubbing, washing whatever we were doing we were
all doing our thing but never once did anybody ever loose respect
for anybody else, and that vibration of holding that love of living
in the possibility. What if were really all God and of course that
is ours to do and it is not about painting, its not about any
particular moment its about why are we gathering on Sunday. You
already know there is one life that power is in and through me and
as me, you already know that. God is all there is and you already
know that, love is the only real thing, you already know that so why
are we here? To take what you know and practice it because we live
in a liquid universe that acts as a solid fact and so I practice and
in that practicing I am informed oh look I am loved back, wow that
changes my consciousness yet still, oh my god they are holding me
flawless and everything, with flaws and all they are holding me as
God. Oh but there is no job that is too high or there is no place
that you cannot go, oh well what about oh my God I got through my
problem. How many people have prayers answered here? And then you
will turn around and I have been doing conscious prayer work since I
was eighteen years old, conscious prayer work in other words I
became an informed metaphysician and I literally have had thousands
of prayers answered, literally thousands and thousands of prayers
answered but when a new situation comes up in the 3-D world I go oh
my God what am I going to do now because the objective world keeps
trying to tell you are something solid when the truth is what you
are is consciousness. What you are is consciousness in expression
and when you begin to know yourself as consciousness it all shifts
Walter Starcke says we live and move and exist in a sea of
consciousness, the author of the third appearance and Infinite Ocean
of levels of awareness manifesting as our individual lives and he
goes on when we discover ourselves as active consciousness we will
have discovered God. When we know ourselves as active consciousness
we will know God. When we stop believing we are human beings having
an spiritual experience and start believing were spiritual beings
happen to be having a human experience and that even in the midst of
my human experience I’m still a spiritual being and in the midst of
all of my human experience is my spirituality is much greater than
my experience.
The truth of who I am is much greater than my story. Stories are not
honored in God, oh but God you have to listen to this story; well
since you are God God already experienced the story, so why does God
need to listen to the story. And God looks at your story and says
boy you are really believing your story aren’t you. Oh my story of
sorrow and suffering and pain and doubt and illness and disease and
discomfort whatever it is your story we really believe in our story
and we really believe that we have to recreate the patterns of our
story, when in truth your already home, your already home but what
is it to be home in the new era means that we take all of these
ideas, all of these things that we have learned and we begin to
accept in critical mass we have gotten there and we begin to live
from the embodiment of our stories. In the film that I appear in
called living luminaries there is a gentleman who is the current
chairman of the philosophy research society and Mr. Harris talks
about a word that I really like and the word is en-souled. You
cannot really know something until you have souled it, until it is
en-souled it. So what he would say is en-soulment is wisdom
embodied. “en-soulment is wisdom already in your being”. It’s en-souled
in who and what you are, that you begin to live and more and have
your being realizing that you active consciousness, that you are
always active consciousness, you are always attracting or repelling
something and we begin to go oh what is the starting point since it
is everything I think say do and feel what’s the starting point of
that. If I think say do and feel what’s the starting point for it.
The average human being has sixty thousand thoughts a day that’s the
clue Everything thing you think, say do and feel and without paying
any attention at all the average human being has sixty thousand
thoughts a day meaning your mind is rapidly out of control. Do you
see it because every thought is creating something? Every thought is
moving towards the sum total of your consciousness which is creating
your experience. But you say oh yes but I use to do that step one
and step two things but I am now so far about that. Well many of you
know I have had circulation issues in my legs and because of the
disease I had twenty years ago I do not have valves in my legs which
means arteries carry blood down veins carry blood back up and in
your main vein you have spaces every two inches where there is a
flap so when the heart pumps the flap which is a valve it flaps back
and when the heart receives the valve retracts it. Well I have no
valves because of my past disease so there is pressure on my legs
when I am standing and I like to stand and ski and walk and do all
those things so part of what I learned in consciousness was the
affirmation I am radiant vibrant dynamic health remember my words
fly up Shakespeare line my words fly up but my thoughts remain
below, words without thoughts will not to heaven go meaning it is
not just my words its the feeling behinds those words. Hence you can
say the lovely prayer there is one power, that power is perfect,
that power is the perfect life of God that power is my life right
here right now. That power manifests itself in and through and as
all that I am expressing its greater love, greater joy greater
peace, greater providence, greater wealth and magnificence as the
truth of the being that I am. I am that power and any ideas less
than the truth of that power and I release that idea as I claim the
I am in full expression of glory. Thank you God for making it so and
I release and let it be and so it is. Isn’t that a lovely prayer but
sometimes your prayer of oh God please help me, please help me is
way more effective, why because in that prayer of please help me,
please help me you are knowing there is a God and you are counting
on that God to respond. And so you get into this verbal prayer and
your words fly up but your thoughts remain below some very nice
words nice poem, but it won’t manifest because you don’t have any
feeling behind it, your not believing in it right? So when I say the
affirmation I am radiant, vibrant, dynamic health you have got to
know what radiant means to you, you go to know what vibrant means to
you, you got to know what it is to be dynamic and you say oh yes but
I used that information and it worked once before and I am just so
far beyond that now. Oh really then why do you have a wound or why
are you suffering or why is something not working right because you
have evolved beyond that? No because your monkey mind has gone back
into the old patterns and it believes in something less than
radiant, dynamic vibrant health. So you would think after all of
those years that I would think I am so far above that affirmation
now.
I am higher than that now and here is what Ernest Holmes says about
that. He says the only authority you have for your belief is the
authority of what the belief accomplishes The only authority you
have for your belief is the authority of what your belief
accomplishes. The only authority that you know that there is one
power one life and that life is the life of God and I am that life
is the fact that that belief is making your life better. You see
that my spirituality is not something that I hang up on a shelf and
use on Sunday’s. My spirituality is something that is the I AM of my
being it’s the way that I am choosing to express and I am always
seeking a higher thought than the one that I had before. Because new
thoughts create new conditions. Some people say what are we talking
about here! Let me see if I can make it real simple for you.
This is from Ernest Holmes a religious science church meaning
practicing the application of principals religiously a religious
science church is a place where only two things happen people are
taught about a divine presence. People are taught and so we come in
we enter in we have song and music and prayer and we start
practicing a higher ground in order that we may feel sense and know
a divine presence. We only do one thing we teach about the reality
and bring forth the reality of the divine presence. So we teach two
things people are taught about a divine presence and a universal law
that reacts to it. Wait a minute a universal law that reacts to the
divine presence. Everyone touch themselves and say I AM so this
universal law reacts to the divine presence of the very I am you
just claimed into existence That I am the universal law reacts to
the divine presence of the I am that I am. The universal law reacts
to the divine presence of the I AM that I AM and what were saying is
in the new era we are all beginning to recognize the I am that I am
is consciousness. The I am that I am is consciousness. It’s liquid,
it’s constantly evolving and changing according to what I’m doing
with what I think, say feel and do. So what should we start doing in
order to find ourselves embodying the principals of the new era?
There very simple we should love ourselves, we should follow our own
truth, you should trust yourself, you should allow yourself to be
abundant, now doesn’t that sound good? The principals that we’ve
outlined are the ideas of the new era, but now we are talking about
you have to get to a consciousness where you live by those
principals. Where you love yourself, where you follow your own
truth, where you trust yourself and you allow the abundance of the
self to start showing up, all of the way because the law is always
responding to my I am presence. What am I doing with my I am
presence? Meaning as Mary Baker Eddy who founded the Christian
Science church said thy shall stand porter at the door of thought,
she said watch your thinking because of sixty thousand thoughts a
day and for most people it is rapidly out of control. Meaning those
sixty thousand thoughts are repeating themselves item for item and
they don’t even know it. They think that they are actually having a
new day. So yes we should stand porter to the day of thought, yes
but it is everything I think, everything I say oh oh better turn
down the judgment meter. Oh I hate President Bush, who is it that is
doing the hating, what when you say that statement who is doing it.
Oh my God watch what I’m thinking, watch what I’m saying, oh watch
what I’m doing oh my God I am in a panic mode of functioning and
panic “hello” when you function in panic mode what do you create,
more panic right because the law is always responding by
corresponding. So we need to take a breathe to get out of our
reaction, to find out what do we really mean. We need to start
looking inside to go what it is that is the truth of my being and
how do I want to feel and what am I doing with my feeling nature.
Everything thing I think say do and feel is it what I mean. Is it
what I mean right and we begin to see because everything I think say
do and feel is changing what I am because I live in a liquid
universe, what I am is consciousness and I am the I am in activity
and there isn’t any clutch in that puppy its always responding.
We listen to creation and we take responsibility for our creation
and we let our work do its work. We look at the musicians the choir
getting better the musicians getting richer, the music getting
richer why because they have a lot of work and they are letting
their work build and do its work. We let our work do it work and we
take responsibility we give our creations freedom; we give every
bodies creations freedom I want every body’s good work to do its
work to receive the good work from your own works and give everybody
else to receive good works from their own works. Are you willing to
let your work do some good in the world even if you have already
done it? See that’s what it is to en-soul the new era and we begin
to live by these principals in consciousness. We begin to live by
them in consciousness, we choose life, we choose compassion or
misunderstanding there is a big difference between compassion and
judgment. We begin to stretch my compassionate nature and begin to
have compassion for all the misunderstanding in the world. We begin
to en-soul the ideas of the new era so the truth is Ralph Waldo
Emerson says the purpose of all life seems to acquaint man with
himself, he is not to live the future described to him but to live
the real future by living in the real presence We are the ones who
are going to bring in the new era by living by the principals of the
new era now. By allowing those principals to become part of our
consciousness
We have the sixteen points of the new era and they are very valuable
but if you leave them sitting on the table they have no value at
all. They only become value when you take them in and en-soul them
and make them yours and when you begin to realize I have the
capacity to live by a new standard in a new era right now, I don’t
have to wait for anything, I don’t have to wait for critical mass I
only have to let my consciousness en-soul this information because
what I am is consciousness and once my consciousness has taken it
in, knowledge embodied is en-soulment. Once my consciousness has
taken it in and I am living by that way I will be home in the new
era and I will be an outrageous attractive force to the new era.
Everybody touch themselves say I AM, I am an outrageous attractive
force now and are you willing to be an outrageous attractive force
for the possibility that what we practice here is sunga the energy
of the group is a possibility for the whole world and can you
imagine the kingdom in earth as it already is in heaven and it would
be each and all seeing one another as the awakened Christ as the
Buddha, as the high self as the Nashama and experiencing it in all
the myriad of ways there are to experience it. You have stepped into
a new era and the opportunity now is to become home in the new era
because the truth of the matter is you are in the first person I am
the way the life and the truth and my friends I invite you to touch
yourself to know in sacred believing it is true I am the way, I am
the light I am the truth and together we are thinking on these
things and exploring the possibilities.
