"Beyond All Presents"
Dr. Harry Morgan Moses
12-16-07
Beyond all presents, beyond all the things that are
not under Hanukkah, all things that end up under the Christmas tree
or the gifts you receive at Hanukkah, there is something greater
going on.
I want to begin with some big concepts and then see if we can step
it down into our lives to make it relevant this holiday season.
Ernest Holmes the great philosopher from the nineteen hundreds says
this we are surrounded by universal spirit which to be real to us
must first have recognition by us. Thus the one who has the greatest
embodiment of this divinity is in manifestation the most divine. He
who penetrates the inner life will find it to be birth less,
deathless, fearless, and eternal happy, perfect and complete.
Gradually their dawns in his or her consciousness a sense that God
or the infinite is flowing into everything he or she is doing.
Gradually their dawns upon the consciousness a sense that God is
flowing into everything I am doing.
Let me throw this out from John 17:00 the master Jesus has said that
all may be one like thou art in me and I in thee. That they may be
one in us and I in them and they in me that all may be in one. So
what we see as we watch the historic Jesus not the religious one,
but the actual man who walked through time the Rabi the Jew who
awakened to this idea of his total unity with the one, who brought
that consciousness into the world in such a way that he caused the
blind to see, the lame to walk the deaf to hear. But that
consciousness of the eternal one is waiting for you and I all the
time and gradually something dawns upon our consciousness, gradually
something dawns upon our consciousness but in order to have that
thing that gradually dawns upon our consciousness to have it unfold
completely to awaken in us is a whole change of being.
So I will tell you a story some of you know that I own a piece of a
boat and everybody shares and I love to be on the sea and my premier
first mate in San Diego is Dr Mathew Glisan who is eighty three
years old now and he is a medical doctor and he is retired and in
his retired he now works for the State of California as a disability
doctor and so he works three days as a disability doctor and the
other times he serves as an assistant in surgery. A week ago when I
wanted to go out with him he said I cannot go because I am working
for the state and doing two surgeries this afternoon and so we all
want to be like Dr. Mathew when we are eighty three is what I am
trying to get at.
The point of the story is Dr. Mathew and I were on the boat and he
asked me what is the newest thought for you and I said the newest
thought for me is I am God and I began to tell him how I am
understanding in a deeper way the authority of the I AM that I am.
The authority that I am to speak my word to live my truth to be in
tune with divinity, to walk and unfold and he is a long time student
of mine and he says but Harry you were telling me that ten years ago
and I said yes but it is different now. It is different now why
because I am more awake in my ministry now than I have ever been.
I’m more excited about everything great in 2008. Everyone touch
themselves and say I AM, I am everything great in all of 08. Not
waiting to unfold it I am going to accept everything as great in 08
and I am going to claim it right now. And I am so excited I am
personally excited about wow, we are getting it and Dr. Mathew said
you have been saying this for ten years no I have been saying it
longer than that but now we are getting it.
We are beginning to wake up and when we say I am God we step away,
we say all are one meaning God is and I am and God is the great God
and I am one with that but we have a hard time going I am God, I am
the place where God is happening in me. Could there be any other
place where God is happening? It has to happen in you because God is
Ernest Holmes said the definition of religion is man’s understanding
of God, man’s understanding of God not god because anybodies
understanding is not God. God is greater than anyone’s understanding
of God. So is but I am before every God that I understood I am is, I
am, I exist, I have being before I even have a religious concept I
have being. So here we get to the quote and you have heard it before
but listen to what it is saying about claiming yourself as God
because what I just read you in John said that all may be one like
the father in me the master teacher said like the father in me and I
are in thee and they are one in us and I am them that may all be
perfect in the one, all are one. In the palms the palms it says I
have said ye are Gods and all of thee are children of the most high.
Yet we have a challenge in claiming ourselves as that because if I
was really that then my stuff wouldn’t have so much authority. And
isn’t it funny how we argue for our self. I love the idea that I am
God but let me tell you about myself. So here is the quote our
deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is that
we are powerful beyond measure It is our light not our darkness that
most frightens us. We ask ourselves who am I to be brilliant,
gorgeous, talented and fabulous actually who are you not to be. You
are a child of God you’re playing small does not serve the world,
there is nothing enlightening about shrinking so that other people
wont feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine just as
children do.
We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us, it
is not just in some of us it is in everyone and as we let our own
light shine we unconsciously give other people permission to do the
same. As we are liberated from our own fears our presence
automatically liberates others. It is not our fear it is our deepest
fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
Because if we step into that awareness that I am what that power is,
that the word ask and you shall seek that the word translated ask
means demand claim no, ask translated in the current language means
demand, claim no, ask and you shall receive, demand claim no and you
shall receive.
This morning I came out of meditation and I usually pray with one or
two ministers that are serving in churches on Sunday morning before
I drive down but this morning I prayed with five ministers and they
all kept calling me one after the other. The phone kept ringing and
this is amazing and they all said I just wanted to pray with you and
I said why do you want to pray with me this morning and they said
because I love how you know. Ask, seek, know, and claim. See the
mind acquires habits by repetition of thought and gradually the mind
acquires habits by repetition of thought and gradually there dawns
upon the consciousness a new awareness. And so we begin to find that
as we begin to work with the idea of I AM and God is and I AM and
God is sooner or later you realize I AM what God is and we begin to
say now I want to live from that place. I yes well you will have to
as the Chinese proverb says the way to move a mountain is to begin
by carrying away small stones
So the only thing that separates you from your mighty I AM
consciousness that one that can ask, seek, know and claim that knows
itself as one with the one, the only way to do that is to carry the
small stones away from your stuff. Because it is my stuff, it is oh
wait a minute I can’t quite accept God until you know about my
story.
Daniel Brinkley wrote a story about his near death experience and he
has been lecturing on the new age circuit every since and in his
experience he says we all have this experience in our transition of
a panoramic view, you ever heard the expression I had my entire life
flash before your eyes and so he reframed this thing and he calls it
a panoramic life review. If there is such a thing as a panoramic
life review or your whole life comes before you in an instant who is
showing you that life? Well we say God is showing me that life well
then why can’t you become God because you want God to know your
story when God is going to play back your story anyway, because God
already is your story right?
See we don’t want to step into anchoring ourselves in the kingdom in
earth which would mean the qualities of God love, joy, wisdom,
peace, providence, grace, magnificence, they are omnipresence, they
are always present, always available to me. Oh well I would but
before I do that let me tell you about my story. Before the very
face of God, the very face of yourself why didn’t you claim the
bliss, you will say well I just had to make sure you knew my story,
but God is your story and your the one who’s holding your story as
the thing that separates you from your own magnificence. What is
happening to me in my journey and I don’t recommend this method and
in fact one of the reasons that I teach is because I really don’t
recommend this method. So we have four areas of life they are called
health, wealth, and love and purpose right? Now Raymond Charles
Barker gave us that idea sometime in the 1940’s the four areas of
life health, wealth, love and purpose well when I first heard that
idea in the 1980’s I though well that is not exactly true? And then
I tried to find some area of life that didn’t involve health,
wealth, love or purpose and I went well it is pretty true in any
case.
So in my life I have gone through the challenges health, zeroed out,
wealth zeroed out, love zeroed out, purpose oh but in the zeroing
out each time I was resurrected, each time in everyone of those
areas, I was resurrected, I was born anew and how was I born anew by
means of practicing the things that we teach here. By means of
knowing the I AM presence the way the truth and the life and that’s
what it says. That is what the master teacher says he says I AM the
way the life and the truth. Everybody touch themselves and say I AM,
the way, the life and the truth. Who is that and what if we begin to
follow that way. So by means of following that way I die and I am
resurrected, I die and I am resurrected; now the challenge with
death and resurrection is that you always have to die to something
and be resurrected to something. When the truth is you could
probably eliminate that middle section altogether and just be
resurrected.
If I be lifted up all shall be drawn unto me. If I raise myself up
to point of undivided light, ah undivided light oh let’s talk a
little bit about undivided light Because our service on Wednesday is
about undivided light. It about the light that belongs to all
humanity, the light that belongs to all traditions. Light does not
separate itself, the miracle of the Hanukkah oil burning they tell
that story that the eight nights of Hanukkah that there were seven
nights that the oil kept burning because it is measured out. The oil
in the lamp is measured out to burn for a day so they had enough oil
for one light to burn for one day and they knew that that would burn
for one day and why are there eight days of Hanukkah because the
light burned the first day according to the principal of God.
Einstein there are two ways at looking at life, two ways, one as if
everything is a miracle or the other as if nothing is. Now isn’t the
fact that you light oil and it burns, isn’t that a miracle in its
own right? Now we have scientific understanding of what that is and
what is happening and scientifically we could tell you about oil
burning yes but before you could ever tell me what it was doing, it
was doing it. And so that light burned one day that’s a miracle in
its own light and then there wasn’t enough oil so it burned for
another seven days, that is why there are eight days of Hanukkah
because the whole thing is a miracle. The way of looking at life is
it’s a miracle so our celebration of light is about looking at the
unseen force that operates at an exalted level that’s available to
all people who will elevate themselves to that level It is available
to all people who will elevate themselves to that level and that
light, the symbol of that exalted state of consciousness is light
and that is why we have a candle lighting ceremony. To talk about
the qualities of light, undivided light that is everywhere present
and became by anyone who will raise their consciousness up to that
level. So what is that level well I am what God is, God is what I am
and eventually I AM God as me. It doesn’t diminish God in anyway, it
doesn’t diminish religion in anyway, doesn’t step on anybody’s toes
because if I am God as me then who is Dan? God as Dan, do you see
it? No body is diminish just because you claim yourself as the light
of truth, is there less light because you claim yourself as the
light of truth? I am the way the light and the truth is there less
light because I claimed that or perhaps is there more light because
I claim that? Oh it is not diminishing anyone to take from the
wisdom of the ages and say this is the truth so here is our friend
Karl Yung the great psychologist, the only difference between Yung
and Freud and they asked why did you leave your teacher and spin off
to your own version of psychology and Yung said because in the end I
believe there really is a soul, in the end I believe there really is
a soul. So what Yung said is Enlightenment is not about imagining
figures of light, but about making the darkness conscious. It is not
about imagining figures of light but about making the darkness
conscious now why at this time of year we have Christmas which we
historically know is not the time of year that Jesus was born. None
of those things in the stories would be happening weather wise it
doesn’t match nor does it star wise. So he wasn’t born this time of
year the pagans use to celebrate the winter Solstice then later the
Jews began to celebrate Hanukkah and so there were these events
happening in this season that eighty years after Jesus, the living
human being had left the planet, they began to say if we want them
to get these ideas we can probably slip them into this Christmas and
we could name it a new season. So what we find is the winter
solstice, Kwanzaa and Hanukkah and we find all of these events all
coming and what is the winter Solstice it’s the darkest time of the
year. This coming Friday is the darkest day of the year, less light
on this side of the globe than any other time of year. From December
21st forward we start dawning more light and isn’t it interesting
that in this time of the darkest time of year is where we are asked
to come into this human experience of waking up to the light. To the
exalted state of consciousness that is there all the time available
to anybody who will raise themselves up to that level. And Ernest
Holmes says the world is tired of symbols and longs for reality,
well what is the reality? What is the reality of this season, what
is the reality of Christmas, what is the reality of the Solstice,
the fact that light will be born again, that more light can come
that we can claim, demand and know the light, that I can allow my
greatness to shine if I will be one with the light. Oh because I am
the light, I am God, God is what I am and I am what God is. I Am
that and the I am anywhere that it is is God.
Anyone in this room have a cat, you know the joke about the master
feeding the dog and the dog looks up at the master and says wow look
at this soul he brings me food he must be God and the Cat looks at
the same person and say look he brings me food I must be God.
Isn’t the life in that really God and the difference is we can look
at life anywhere and see the presence of God? It is your
consciousness of the I AM, it’s your consciousness of life that
brings forth life. It is your willingness to celebrate life that
brings forth life so the world is tired of ceremonies but ceremonies
will take us somewhere if we will let them. If we understand the
ceremony has no power its I AM participating in the ceremony that
gives it power. So the opportunity for us is to honor the light,
call forth the light that this week as the darkness encroaches to
start seeing your light, opening your light and letting it to shine
in the midst of the season. That those lights all around the sparkle
lights on the trees on the menorah they are all a symbol of the one
light that I am and who am I not to be the light that I am. Who am I
to shrink away from the light that I can bring in the world. If is
not your fears and doubts it’s your greatness that scares you. What
would happen if everything is great in 08? You mean I don’t need to
drag the story with me? If you wanted to be resurrected, if you
wanted to wake up, how about a little Easter in December! Wait a
minute I don’t want to go through this and miss the presents because
beyond all presents presence. Beyond all presents, presence and I
beginning to see it in a way that we can be it together even in the
face of our uniqueness.
I will tell you a story my oldest brother is named after my father
and his real name is Richard and he goes by Rick and in his Jewish
community he converted to Jewish and his name is Moshie. So Moshie
has a Hanukkah party last week and he invites his brothers and we
have been doing this now a few years and my mother’s call was very
simple we should love each other, forgive each other and have lots
of picnics. So we are working on it and so four of the seven
brothers showed up at the Hanukkah gathering and they light the
candle on the Menorah and they did the prayer and it was very
beautiful and it is getting softer and sweeter and then all of a
sudden after dinner four of the brothers find themselves in the
living room and Moshie, Rich tries to bring up politics and I looked
at the four of us and I knew we had two blue and two red states in
this room and we were doing really well and I actually said out loud
we don’t have to have this conversation? Rick said no and then I
sort of watch and then all of a sudden the two red state guys said
it is really interesting all the different points of view and I went
oh my God. Here we are finally mature enough finally loving enough,
finally willing to forgive each other enough that even in the midst
of our differences we love each other and nobody needed to be right,
and nobody needed to make their point of view more important than
somebody else’s point of view and it is the beginning of the
practice of the third appearance. It is the beginning of the
recognition of cosmic consciousness. Where we can be in love with
each other, we can honor each other even in the midst of the
differences and our differences don’t take any from one another,
doesn’t take anything away so what if we were that way around all
politics, around all religion, around all lifestyles, around all
ways of being. That the spirit of God within me see the spirit of
God within you and rejoices in the sweet love because this exalted
state of consciousness exists for anybody who will arise to that
level and I am that level and I have never left that level and I
will always be at the level. If you look at your program you have a
card today and the card begins with the powerful statement of being
I AM. What is the Christ consciousness, the Christ consciousness has
many different names as we know and have often shared here. The
Christ consciousness, the Buddha consciousness the Atman
consciousness the soul consciousness the Nashama consciousness, the
Naphsha consciousness, all different words by different traditions,
all saying the one thing but the consciousness is the full
reflection of light as what it is light no darkness bringing to the
darkness places the light, all of that stuff gets the light and the
stuff dissolves because the darkness cover it not. I am that light,
I am that Christ consciousness, and I am that complete reflection of
the light with nothing to interrupt it. The problem for you and me
is we have this brain and this brain is busy firing electrons and
neutrons at the rate of sixty thousand thoughts a day and some of
those sixty thousand thoughts are ramp idly out of control. Do you
know what I am talking about? So when we affirm that the Christ
consciousness, the Christ presence is governing my mind we say to
that electronically firing brain neutron thing we say you just be
governed by the highest authority of who I am because the human mind
has made up a lot of ideas but the light has always been perfect and
the light remains perfect and the light will overcome the darkness,
no matter what it is. Enlightenment is about bringing light to all
of the dark places. So let’s make this affirmation together as we
understand what it is we are claiming. I am the master within
governing and controlling all of my thought processes in full Christ
perfection as I wish them to be. Who is the authority that get to
choose what will move through your mind, I am that. As I am choosing
in this the winter solstice week I am choosing the light of the one,
I am choosing the Christ the Atman the Buddha, the high self, I am
choosing myself as I actually am and everything less than great
dissipates into the nothingness and the only thing left is
everything great in 2008. And I invite you to think on these things
and together let us explore the possibilities.
Namaste..............................................................
